It's been a few years but the Nisku Inn was OK the times we stayed there.
They have free parking and a shuttle to the airport but so do all the hotels in the area.
I don't know if any of the airport hotels stand out above the crowd. None do for me. The best in the area I have stayed at was the Best Western in Leduc

I've stayed here, as well as many of the other airport hotels in Nisku and Leduc. The most recent one for me was a Holiday Inn in Nisku. As lunabug says, none of them were memorable for any reason - just a convenient overnight stay before flying out the next day.

I'm going to be staying their for business that is near the aiport area and will be their for 8 nights. Would I go crazy if I was their the whole time. If so, is there better options that are within a 15 minute drive of the airport? Thanks for all your help.

8 nights, i'd never stay there - maybe your last one or two for convenience to get to the airport. i'd stay at the delta edmonton south or the best western cedar park inn. they are on the southside of edmonton and only a 20 minute drive to the airport.
or stay in leduc - at least you have some restaurant options.

A couple of those hotels are right up against a major rail line - huge freights thundering along all night - only in Edmonton would they build hotels within feet of a rail line. It is true that none of the hotels out there I have ever stayed in are above average - in fact, average is good. A few yrs ago I stayed in a Best Western which was one of the worst hotels I ever stayed in anywhere - it must have been renovated by now, but BW is an unreliable chain.

Will you have a car?
If so you could stay anywhere. Whyte Ave. has the Meterra and the Varscona hotels which are right in the middle of the Old Strathcona scene. You are there in August? so there could be the Edmonton Fringe festival at that time in the area.
