Shore Excursions - Tahitian Princess
We are taking the Tahitian Princess Cruise in June and are deciding on shore excursions. We will stop at Tahiti, Moorea, Huanine, Rarotonga, Raiatea, and Bora Bora is there anything that we must do? on these islands. Also, is it safe to hire a taxi for a couple of hours to take us around the island? Can you snorkel from the shore on these islands or should we sign up for a boat trip? Any help I can get, I would appreciate.

We are also sailing on TP on the June 16 departure. For a wealth of info on excursions and everything else cruise-related, go to www.cruisecritic.com then find the Princess Roll Call section and you will find postings from people cruising during the same time frame. This is a most comprehensive site with details on all the islands, safety tips, etc. Cheers, Carol and Gary

Forgot to mention clicking on "Boards" at the top of page to find Roll Calls. Or just go to this link:

I am also sailing on the TP in Sept (14th to be exact)Any information you have found or advice upon your return on the shore excursions would be appreciated.
Also, this is our first cruise. I tried to get a category BA for my sailing, but the only ones left were in the Aft of the boat. Do you know if this is preferable. My understanding is that one should be towards the center. Currently we are booked on the 7th deck inbetween the center and the rear. I am debating whether to upgrade to a mini suite. Any advice???

Hello again,
From the posts we have read at www.cruisecritic.com, the 7th deck of Tahitian Princess, center to slightly aft is a good location. Some posters who were located in the very aft section had mentioned some issues regarding vibration/engine noise but your location should be fine.
We have opted for a mini-suite for our June 16th cruise. If you have the opportunity to book a mini-suite, you will likely greatly appreciate the extra space, both in your cabin and on your balcony. For a look at some photos of these cabins you can go to the following link:

It will take a few moments for the photos to download but be patient. Hope this is helpful.
