ok to stay in Bondi end March?
Will be in Sydney end-March for a week. Planning to spend 2 nights near the beach - do you think that's a good idea considering temperature dropping in Sydney that time? I don't need to go swimming but just plan to chill, relax and people watch in Bondi. the latter part of the trip will be staying at the Rocks area.
Or is there a better beach to recommend? A lot seem to like Manly - I was there 2 yrs ago, just walked a bit farther down from the ferry to the beach - but it wasn't all that exciting. Did I miss anything in Manly?

Bondi in March will be great and perfect weather for people watching. You could also check out Coogee Beach while you are in the area. Actually, you can walk there along the coast from Bondi and it should take about 2 hours one way but it will be well worth it.
As for Manly, did you go to the ocean beach or the harbour beach. The harbour beach is next to the ferry and isn't all that exciting. The ocean beach is great.

In Manly we walked straight from the Wharf all the way down on the Corso (I think) till we got to the beach. It was ok, but the row of shops/restaurants were not that exciting. I thought it would be a bit more quaint I guess.

Yeah Manly Ocean Beach is the best. I love it. There are heaps of nice places to eat or drink. The ferry ride to get there is nice too. They have spent heaps in the mall and it is all looking very nice.I hope you enjoy the stay. Wish i had time to spend at the beach this time of year. Maybe i will have to make time. winter is fast approaching!!

Depends what you want in a Sydney beach, personally prefer the northern beaches and I mean way north of Manly, Palm Beach has sea and surf one side and the calm waters of Pittwater on the other, pretty hard to beat.
