Vietnam : Mekong delta photos

Not really a trip report but more of a photo essay of one of my trips to the Mekong delta. I anxiously await the next opportunity to return there.

More photos will be added to existing threads soon at this place: http://tinyurl.com/d5aaxn

Great pictures. One of the most memorable experiences of my life down the Mekong to visit a Vietnamese friend's Mother for lunch. Got out of the boat to walk about a mile to the house. I can really appreciate these pictures. Thanks for sharing.

A friend of mine just went to the Mekong delta and wrote to me that it was the best thing she has seen. But she is still in Vietnam so maybe she will find something even better!

Oh, I loved going down the Mekong. We sat on the roof of the boat in the sunshine and just watched the world go by. In fact, I just used some of my pix of this trip for a class today and was blissing out thinking about that ride. Your picture of "Uncle Ho" in Can Tho made me smile; when I was there he was just being put up and was even shinier. I'm afraid my title on this one is a bit irreverent: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/274...53546425HoBeda

What fabulous photos. What month were you on this trip? How was the weather? In late Feb. I am planning to do a 2 day trip on the Mekong with an overnight in Can Tho.

That particular trip was in September, but I have also been in February. The weather was fine both times.
