Terrific photos, Mitch. What kind of equipment were you using? We visited many of the same places last month. Brings back wonderful memories!

A Panasonic Lumix FZ5 with a 12 times optical zoom (5 megapixels). It's a pretty basic camera, actually, but I got it partly because a survey of point and click digital cameras by Nat Geographic recommended it. Some were also taken with a basic Nikon Coolpix3700, which is only 3.2 megapixels. Both were well under $400US.

Lovely photos. You have a very good eye.
I just got the Panasonic FZ7 so it was interesting for me to see what kind of capabilities it has. Thanks for sharing

cruisinred: I think the FZ7 is the big brother of the FZ5. If that is so, it was the FZ7 that National Geographic recommended and adding "for those who can't afford it, try the FZ5 which is almost as good"....so, you see *grins* I am a pauper!
