Tokyo Outlet Stores
The outlets at venue fort in Tokyo, are these true outlets and worth visiting. Outlets here in the US tend not to be the real deal so I am curious if this is the same n Tokyo?

Do you mean VenusFort in Odaiba?
https://www.venusfort.co.jp/multi/en/about/
The architecture looks kind of intriguing - a grand 18th century European town with a fake blue sky above.
I've never heard it mentioned, but this kind of shopping is not my thing. But looks like tripadvisor has a lot of reviews, you could check out. Some look quite detailed.

"Outlet shops with cutting edge brands extremely popular among young people in the Shibuya and Harajuku area are especially abundant."
Not sure if that is what the BillTs are looking for.
For cut-price shopping, one option might be the Ameyokocho shopping street (mentioned in other threads) that starts in Ueno. Not really name-brand outlets, but shop after shop of usually bargain-basement stuff - aroundtokyo.net/blog/2012/06/24/a-walk-along-one-tokyos-old-market-streets/

Mrs Bill T I'm not sure I understand your question - is it whether these shops sell real branded goods? I should very much think so, I don't think a high vis shopping location like this would allow knock-offs, nor the brands themselves.
As to whether the goods are a bargain or not, no idea!

Don, thanks for the link we will check that out. Now let me be clear onmy question. Here in the US when you see a place that claims to be an outlet it often turns out not to be a true outlet. A true outlet for say a name brand will have much lower prices than one could get at the main retail outlets even with a sale at those main stores. Usually these true outlet places have a low overhead, perhaps in an outlying area with low rent. So in looking at Venusfort it does not look like this would be a true outlet as the building looks expensive. I was hoping someone on this forum may have shopped there and can report if it is o deed a true outlet or just pretending.
