outstanding bangkok tailor
Just returned from thailand and went to Monet Il Sarto (in the Marriot Plaza)in Bangkok for clothes. my husband had almost and entirely new business wardrobe made (including 6 shirts for $80). he had suits and pants made as well. I also had 2 dresses ($50 for both), skirts and some shirts made. everything came out amazingly. we each had 2 fittings and gave Jack, the tailor, a week to make our clothes, which I believe is integral for proper fitting. I can't say enough about him. what beautiful clothes at a major bargain!

thank you mad for reference.
If you do not mind me asking, how much did you pay for men suit?
We will be staying in Mariiott in October and Bob also recommended this tailor. Does he work in the evening? Does he have an email?

Mad; Considering we have been to Bangkok 4 times we really do not want to spend much time there on this trip.We only have 2 full consecutive days and 3 nights (but get in late)in Bangkok so it is wise to take a "pass" for we do not want to spend all the time having fittings. We are at the Pennisula but don't want to rush back for a fitting. What is your recommenation-take a "pass" and buy at a Hillifiger factory outlet or similar?

Stan, I think if you go to jack first thing yur first morning, you may be able to get time in for another fitting (he'll come to your hotel that night if you want). Not sure what to tell you, as I don't know how he does in so little time.
As for the cost of the men's suit, it was $150 ($110 for the jacket and $45 for the pants). We bought a lot of stuff and he cut us a deal. i recommend negotiating the price a bit, although he is very reasonable to begin with (3 times the amount in KO Samui).
