Koh Samui, Koh Samet or Koh Chang
Hi all, I would really appreciate some feedback on the places above. Well, I've been to Koh Samui. I would like to know what is the pick of the 3 islands. I'm weighing up whether it is worth flying to Koh Samui again from Bkk when i could just get a bus if it is a lot nicer. I've got a friend travelling with me so we are looking for somewhere obviously nice, but a place that has some decent enough nightlife. I don't want somewhere really quiet. I would love a mixture of both.
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If you are looking for a place that is NOT really quiet, then Koh Chang is NOT your choice! While it is a beautiful place, and we really love it, there is not much at all in terms of nightlife. Its basically a sit and relax kind of island.

I've not been to Koh Samet, but a friend who has been there seemed to indicate that it, too, is very quiet. Maybe you should just go back to Samui. Just find a quieter beach area (look at Crystal Bay Resort on Jubilee Beach, for example) rather than Chaweng or Lamai or other "big" beaches. You can rent a motorbike or jeep or car for getting around the island for nightlife.
I've just returned two weeks ago from Samui. Our group of four rented a car for 4 days. It came in very handy, even though we were staying on Chaweng. It was nice to escape the busy beach and visit the quieter places!
