Hi, are there any websites particularly good for hotels in these two cities?
I am looking at the Intercontinental on Salisbury Road in HK. How are the harbor view rooms? They seem to be quite highly praised, but are they more or less the same? Is it possible to beat the rates offered by the Intercontinental website?
Thanks!

yep it is several ways actually
bidding priceline.com and Priceline.com.hk
www.betterbidding.com
If you do not want to bid get the Priority CC I jest did
60000 miles with first use I just did this up to 6 mights
free atichotelsgroup.com also free club floor suite upgrades
to best available if you flash your Priority CC.
From the T&C on the invite for 60,000 points: ... It looks like the new credit card product is on the Priority Club ... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/pc/1/en ...
www.flyertalk.com/forum/intercontinental-hotels-priority-club...
boooking.com will have recent honest reviews views are to die for usually can snag them with free upgrades city views are
fine prettiest in the world for me when there last years ago.
You know, of course, that you can bid on Priceline but you won't know which hotel you'll get until after you pay (and even then you won't know if you get a view. While joining the frequent stay club is always a good idea, there is no guarantee you'll get an upgrade at all - let alone to club floor view suite. It depends on all kinds of things like how frequently you stay (your status) and how full the hotel is.
Thanks. The Intercontinental could be a Priceline hotel, but has anyone actually gotten it? Unfortunately I tend to stay at much cheaper hotels, so I don't really carry enough weight with any of the luxury chains.
Are there other good websites for hotels in these cities in general (not necessarily just luxury hotels)?
I've used asiahotels.com to book HK hotels for others.
For Japan, I've used travel.rakuten.com.
At least for HK, there are hardly any deals these days, and asiahotels.com may not always have the best price. But they are quite comprehensive with plenty of hotels with instant confirmation, and they offer a slight rebate for future booking.
And don't expect any deals at the IC at all.
for Tokyo: http://www.ezchoicehotels.com/
good price and location
also look at www.agoda.com
