Best India Guide Company for 2 People

We are close to 60 and are looking for the best local tour guide company. We plan to take care of the hotels and flights on our own. We would like to visit New Dehli, Varanasi, Khajuraho, Agra, Ranthambhore, Jaipur, Udaipur, Mubai and Cochin over a 3-4 week period.

Recommendations have included Castle and King, Compass Tours and Travel, Djoser, Overseas Travel Adventure and Legendandpalaces.com

Any suggestions as to which would be the best choice would be most appreciated.

Roosevelt G.

I don't think Overseas Adventure Travel does individual tours, only group tours.

VP Singh, Legendsandpalaces.com, is the best. He will do more than just show you the sights; he will show you the real India, not just the tourist sites. He will be involved in all details and attentive to your needs and desires.
My wife and I both enjoyed him thoroughly.
Have a great trip.

I may be a little late to the party as I haven't been on the forums lately, but I went to India with Legends & Palaces back in May as a single person, and I am going back to India with them in November.

www.KensingtonTours.com

Nat Geo provider good personal experierience

in the past at great price point for upscale travel.

zicasso.com might be wise take some bids

independent trip insurance quotwright.com always wise.

Many scammers on the boards and there I always pay with

Credit Card I NEVER wire money have seen folks lose thousands.

Happy Hunting!

qw's recommendations are for companies that offer group tours, not individual tours. I also think you are best off to choose a local company, such as those recommended by Bob, Jerry, or Peg.

We used Indian Moments for a fabulous custom 5 week trip for just the two of us this past March and April. Can't speak highly enough about them.

I've used Indian Panorama twice, for individual trip (not group trip) ; been very happy with Mrs owner Faith Pandian et cie.

Now using for part of trip in a few weeks, where having them book certain hotels and in-city tours is an advantage (i.e better prices on some places with them). www.indianpanorama.in.

Give identical itinerary to all of whom you enquire, and see who comes up with good price, good suggestions, and seems most willing to either do what you want or explain why alternatives might be better

I will suggest that you take local site seeing tours operated by respective tourists dept. of respective state govt. or Asoka Tours & Travel or Delhi Tourism or ITDC. This will save you precious money (it may not matter much to you)and you will be safe in a group.
