Best city in Pakistan to visit

What is the one best place in Pakistan to visit. We will be nearby and want to visit Pakistan for a few days.

How nearby is "nearby"? And would you be talking about somewhere that you could fly to direct from wherever you are?

Sort of makes a difference. But all things considered I would probably say Lahore, with Peshawar a close second. If you don't mean "city" exactly - but somewhere really special that would take some effort to get to but isn't in the "really hard" categorey - then I would say Gilgit or Kariembad and the Hunza valley.

Lahore- some beautiful old historic structures from the mughal area, awesome food and culture.


Islamabad is nice, clean city, easy to get around and if you can make a short evening trip up to Muree you can start seeing some of beauty of Kashmir.

I've been to Karachi too..it's a metropolis, very dusty, busy and shopping...

oh one more thing..near Islamabad is a old archaeological ruin and museum, texila...worth a visit
