Which American airline?

My family will be visiting Orlando this Dec and we are looking at the diff flight options now. We are weighing the options for the diff American Airlines esp UA, Continental and NWA since they fly direct frm the Pacific route. Which is yr fav??

Whichever one has the cheapest non-stop flight. Seriously, while everyone has their own personal horror stories on any airline, in my opinion if averaged out they are all about the same - shop price, route, schedule. Try kayak.com as a search site for this. (And don't confusewords direct and non-stop - non-stop means it does not stop, direct can have one or more stops but you don't have to get off plane)

Where in the Pacific? The Asian carriers are some of the highest rated. Most U.S. carriers do a better job on this route (except American), so I've been told.

We will be travelling exSingapore. Yes, we do have some of the best airlines but none of them fly direct to Orlando. We are hoping to do a stopover at SF. So intinerary will be Sin-Orlando-SFO-Sin. I've checked and the American airlines have the best connection. In fact UA has the best connection cos they have a direct non-stop flight for the Orlando-SFO route. I've flown on UA more than 10 yrs ago so have no idea what they are like now. Thanks for responses. Will check out the websites recommended.

Another question. Is it too early to book now or should I wait till the summer season is over?

Dec is high season for Orlando. You might find some sales after the summer, but they usually don't apply for the holiday periods in Dec. If you're going in early Dec you might find some sales, but I wouldn't expect it and while it's anyone's guess as to how air fares are going to be 6-8 months from now, I wouldn't expect them to go down. Just my opinion.

Only UA and NW fly from SIN. Other airline use codeshare partners. For example, Continental will be flying you on NW SIN-NRT-SFO. AA will put you on either Cathay via Hong Kong or JAL via Tokyo.

For such a long flight, I would go with UA and spend $349 for Economy Plus access. It will allow you and a companion to sit in seats with a bit more legroom. I think $175 per person is worthwhile for what will likely be a full day of travel.

It isn't the best product in the world, and service can be hit or miss, but I will trade service for a reasonable amount of legroom.

It really makes little difference if you have all flights on one airline, or if it's an itinerary with mixed airlines.

For example, you can use EVA via TPE. EVA has a real premium economy class. Or ANA via Tokyo. The trans-Pacific segments have premium economy as well.
