I have hesitations flying USAIR but what am I suppose to do???

I purchased a ticket on hotwire for a trip from Charlotte NC to munich. I have to travel from my home base of NYC on USAIR to Charlotte for the connecting flight to Munich on lufthansa. Now I have heard a lot of problems in recent weeks through friends and this website about the reliablilty of USAIR that I was not aware of before I booked ticket. I am just concerned about using usair or should I change to different airline to charlotte. Maybe I am just paranoid! any experience or advice

Don't worry about it. All airlines have some problems. US Air has tons of flights from Charlotte to NYC, so there are plenty of backup plans.

Are you going to have two separate tickets, NYC-CLT and CLT-MUC?

If so, no matter what the airline, it's worth being cautious, because your Hotwire ticket is particularly unflexible when it comes to changes.

why don't you fly daily LH411 JFK-MUC directly ?

I'm assuming because they got a good deal on Hotwire that dictated they take this routing.

To the OP, I wouldn't worry. There are enough flights out of NYC to Charlotte on US that you will be fine. Indeed, US Airways was the most on-time major carrier during January. I would be more worried about NYC's notoriously problem-plagued airports than US Airways, in particular.

Ask enough people and you will find an equal number of horror stories and hatred for any airline.

US isn't my favorite airline either. But, the last trip I took with them in Feb. PIT-MCO went without a hitch - both ways.

I agree, your paranoid. Get on the plane and go.
