Check in time for domestic flight at LIM
I've looked on the LAN website but was unable to locate this information. We will have a 6:05am flight from LIM to Chiclayo and am wondering what time we need to be at the airport.
I also suspect it would be better to overnight at the Ramada airport hotel rather than in town. Is there anything to do or see at or near the airport...we might have a full free day?
Any info would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

Well, the airport website itself recommends two hours for domestic flights:
"Para vuelos nacionales se recomienda al pasajero llegar con dos horas de anticipación a la partida del vuelo y presentarse en el mostrador de su aerolínea, con su pasaje y la documentación necesaria."
(For domestic flights, it is recommended that the passenger arrive two hours ahead of departure and check in at the airline counter with his ticket and necessary documentation.)

Thanks Jeff. Where the heck did you find that information on the LAN website? I'm usually pretty good at finding things but this one had me stumped. I didn't try searching the Spanish version.

FYI they also do not announce gates and in some cases departure times so be prepared to look for yours. I also found in my case 4 am departure that while the flight was listed on the board the gate number did not come ever however about 1/2 hour before flight a time was put next to it. Also be aware the place is a mad house with long lines for Lan for most flights

I was with a group and our guide insisted that one hour is enough lead time for a domestic flight on LAN. When we arrived the lines were so long we missed the flight and we had to take the next one. The guide had to pay the change fees.

Thanks all. Guess we will get to the airport before 4am for our 6am flight and eat breakfast there. Does anyone know if the LAN domestic counters and security lines start processing people before 4am? And if the airport will likely be crowded early morning on a Wednesday in September for a domestic LAN flight? Just trying to plan ahead since I think we'll be very groggy when we do this. Thanks!
