Any blizzard re-booking advice?

Brother is to fly on BOS-PBI (West Palm) tonight on JetBlue. Flight is still listed as going, although all earlier flights have been cancelled. Weather in Boston might cooperate, but no idea if they will have plane. (He is ticketed, checked-in, this was his original itinerary).

He tried to rebook yesterday - JetBlue would not even let him get in phone line (recording said to call back). On-line availability says no seats until Thursday.

I know he is in same situation as tens of thousands of others - just asking what he should do. Go to airport unless flight is cancelled? What then - wait in line to rebook? Keep calling airline?

monitor www.jetblue.com

for ongoing flight status

print out boarding pass on line

if not already done always head to airport

unless web site shows it is cancelled.

Why wouldn't you go to the airport if the flight hasn't been canceled?

Rebooking off a flight that has not been canceled means getting in line behind thousands of people whose flights have already been canceled. That doesn't seem like a very good plan to get somewhere.

resolution to above - flight was cancelled; still unable to get thru to JetBlue (could not even wait for next agent - they just disconnected us). Found flight on Southwest into alternate Florida city for tomorrow - bought it - and later finally got thru to JetBlue who are refunding $ for original flight.

Even the Massport website that shows Logan (BOS) departures and arrivals and delays would not load for hours and hours, so I am not surprised he could not get through to airline.

If you CAN get through to the airport whereever you are and figure out where the flight is coming from (what flights are due in at your gate and have they cancelled), you may have a much better idea of whether your flight will go.
