BA economy premiun seats
Has anyone flown on the new flight on BA from San Jose , Costa Rica to London Gatwick?
My question is if it is worth paying more for the economy premium seating? If anyone has experienced economy premiun on BA, I wonder what one gets for at least double the price of the economy ticket The price is much higher than upgrades on other airlines I have flown to Europe.
Thanks for responses. ticadonnita

In premium economy you get more legroom, your seat reclines a little more, you will have a footrest and your seat will be slightly wider. You will be in a separate cabin from regular coach so there might be less competition for bathrooms. You will be closer to the front so your meal and drink service will be ahead of regular coach but you will have the same food and drink selections as coach.
I have only flown Premium Economy on BA when I got a free upgrade. Personally I would not pay double for Premium Economy but if you need the extra room then it might be worth it for you.

I flew Premium Economy with family this past June from DEN to LHR. I usually fly Business Class but not when buying 8 tickets. The family loved it and although used to B.C. or First Class, I survived. As stated above there is more leg/seat room, along with other perks such as a wash bag, hot cloths, pre- flight drinks etc. I don't think the price is twice the economy price. It's usually only a couple of hundred dollars more. A lot depends on when you book. Check with B.A. website. In short, Premium Econmy is better than Economy, Business Class is better than Premium Economy and First Class is better than Business.

Thank you both for your information . Right now Economy Premium does double in price for trip to London and more than double for trip back to San Jose, Costa Rica on BA . I have looked on all other travel websites as well. I don't need to fly until this September, so will keep checking to see if there is any difference in cost.
My husband does wan the leg room for such a long flight.
I wish we could afford First Class or Business.

You might keep in mind the configuration of the seats... possibly in premium economy the seating pattern is 2-4-2 and you'd need to pay to reserve to get 2 seats on the side rather than in the 4 in the middle. Pricey but worth it, imo.
