Hello,
I haven't stayed there myself (yet) but I'm familiar with it and it is on my list of places to try in Joburg. It's a small modern boutique hotel in a gated area where you can walk around at night. The hotel and the area around it are known for their popularity with younger people who enjoy the active nightlife. There are a lot of restaurants, bars, and clubs nearby, as well as shopping.
Cheers,
Julian

Our family of four stayed at the Melrose Arch in early August and we were very happy with the choice. The decor is modern and interesting and the rooms are very comfortable. Food was good and room service was efficient. Our son was sick and we needed a doctor in the evening and they got a doctor to our room within an hour. It was too cold to use the pool, but the pool area looked very cool, with tables and chairs in the water and underwater music. The area is gated, with lots of restaurants and nightlife, and we were able to walk across the street to a great dinner at Moyo.
