Hi All!

I cannot believe the day has finally arrived! We (myself, my husband, and our 21 year old son) are all set to leave later today taking the shuttle flight from Reagan National, D.C. to JFK, NY connecting to our Delta flight to Cairo, arriving tomorrow at 4:45pm (9:45am EST). It will be a crazy, chaotic day of traveling! Not only will we have all the holiday makers also traveling but the first floor, baggage claims, at Reagan flooded yesterday! Yikes!!!! I hope we make it...

Thanks a million times over to all of you for helping me make these plans! I have read and re-read all your trip reports and daily postings countless times! You all are terrific!

Please follow along with us while we make our way from Cairo to Aswan to Luxor and back! Matt, our son, has created a web-site and will be up-dating it as time and wi-fi allow...excuse the typos! The address is:

(Matt did not know about the destination of our trip until December 24th and he cannot believe that he is going to Egypt....keeps saying "it hasn't sunk in yet". He has always wanted to go...loves Egypt!)

Thank you again for all your marvelous advice! I feel like I know all of you personally after reading your comments and trip reports for months! I wish I could pack all of you up in my bag and take you along....doesn't seem right to travel without my Fodor's companions! AT LEAST I will be traveling with copies of your trip reports and comments which I have bound in my own little travel guidebook! I feel like I have all the inside scoop.....

I'll be in touch and will do my best to report back to you about our travels....just hope it is half as interesting as all of yours have been!

Yesterday the weather for travel into Cairo was awful - fog was grounding everything. Today, let's all keep our fingers crossed that Lollie's Delta flight comes in without a hitch.

We're back...got in yesterday afternoon! We had an amazing time and thanks to all of you for helping to make it a trip of a lifetime! You prepared us well!!!

andonius - Ahmed and Mohamed sent you their regards...they are looking for another temple for you!
