Is Israel sage after the violence this summer??

Hello all,

The husband and I are thinking of taking a trip to Israel this winter (end of Dec 2006) and have a sensitive question: Is it still safe to travel there after the violence this summer?
I think all the tours take you to Haifa area. Is that area safe to travel?

Has anyone been on a Israeli tour recently?

Any input would be appreciated.

One can only presume it has grown wiser.

... that's very good!

Considering the fact that the flights are full, those visiting must believe it's safe!

Is anywhere in the world safe today? Do you think NY is safer after 9-11? Madrid? London? Is flying safe? No one can answer this question. I can only tell you that we live here in Israel, have 3 children and their spouses and 5 grandchildren and we all travel all over the country, enter Arabic villages, go to restaurants, theaters and shop in shopping malls. The children walk alone in the streets, go to their activities without having their parents driving them back and forth, visit their friends whenever they wish, walk to school ect. Would you let your kids do it in the U.S. I seriously doubt it. So think about it, is Israel less safe then where you live?

Just back from one week in Israel, didn't go all the way up to Rosh Pinah, but Zikron Yaakov was packed with tourists, Jerusalem really crowded. Friends in Nataniya said they heard a rocket during the lebanon war, but no lingering damages and you cannot really sense that now.
We actually felt quite safer, as there hasn't been much suicide bombing recently (pray this continues), and you'll see police or security presence in critical areas like within the old city.

What do you mean by 'violence'? There was a war. The war is over. That's all folks...

SAFE? LOL

Yes, indeed. I was in Israel October 22 through November 2nd on a private tour with 3 other ladies and we went all over the country (except for the far south...Eilat etc.) and enjoyed every second. This was my fifth trip (second this year).

I will try to be as nice as I can . Nobody knows Madame, what will happen in the next hour concerning safety in Israel. Things happen all of a sudden . Events can happen everywhere and everytime . Some places are safer and some are less .Haifa is relatively safer but even in this city people got killed in the past.
All of us have got the same information . Do you find any comfort if some posters tell you to go ? They don't know the truth better than you and better than me. It's up to you what to decide !

Thanks for the input and sorry about the typo.

We have purchased a tour and tickets to go to Israel and are very excited about the trip. Hope things are calm during our trip and otherwise too.

We just got back fro a trip to Israel with Gate 1 travel and at no time did we feel unsafe. We visited, Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Haifa, Tiberias, the Golan Heights, the Dead Sea area, Jerusalem, etc. Our trip was from November 2-12, 2006 and it was great!
