My friends and I have finally booked our trip to Egypt with EH. For those who have recently returned using this company, how were the guides they provided? I was hoping I can ask EH to perhaps have them as our guides as well. Thanks in advance.
Any of you did your laundry during your trip to Egypt? If so, what is the average cost?

Anyone???
Sorry I can't help you with any info on Egypt Hightlights. BUt if you put "egypt highlights" in the search box you should find several posts from people who used this company.
We traveled with EH in November 2005 and were very well pleased with the guides we had - Ayman Fathey in Cairo and Mohammed in Luxor-Aswan. They were very knowledgeable and gave us lots of info on present-day Egypt as well as the ancient world. They both went out of their way to adapt the trip to our needs and choices. Highly recommended.
The least expensive laundry we did was on the Nile cruise ship - about $7 US for a large bag - I think it's charged by weight. We also had laundry done at the Nile Hilton twice.
Our trip was fantastic - will answer other questions if you like - ride8042@ride.ri.net

If you are still checking this thread, I have just returned from a "short" trip arranged by Egypt Highlights. Walaa and Magdy were most helpful. We were very satisfied. However, we were only five days in Egypt when my husband became ill with a blocked intestine. Mohammad in Luxor and Magdy in Cairo were at our side through the ordeal of hospitals in Luxor and Cairo. We flew home after a call to MedJet Assistance, for surgery in San Francisco, after three nights at Alsalam Hospital in Cairo. If you need any more information, you can email me.

Steel Lady sorry to hear of your husbands illness. It would have been a scary thing for you both. Hope he is recovering well.

Thanks. He is just fine now. Word of warning about the doctors who have a contract with the Nile cruise ships -- Their attitude is: "Charge US prices, as all American's have insurance to get it back." Hospitals were very reasonable. I hope to post medical info in a separate thread.
