Wonderful viewing of these beautiful creatures.

We first saw them at Lagoon and at Lebala in late June 2005, shortly before one of them reportedly succumbed to snakebite.

We saw the remaining two at Selinda on Sept.2007, but recent reports from Duma Tau indicate that one of them may have died following a fight with two younger males.

Also thoroughly enjoyed the videos of the wild dogs and of the honey badger. Much appreciated.

I find it odd that threads about short skirts or sports bras appear to attract more interest/comments than ones dealing with wildlife.Perhaps I need help.!!!

The posts about "clothing" were questions. People were responding with answers. We really don't know how much interest the videos have. I'm not sure how many people respond if they simply watch it.

ps - My answer for the impala of "have a nice day" I'm not sure works .

I only posted these to see if anyone on this forum was interested in Wildlife, the lack of responses speaks for itself.
Just look at the thread I started with some real facts about Elephant Culling clearly no one is interested other than the usual negative person.
Skirts and Bras are far more important as is what is the food and drink like, it is very sad.
Luckily I did not prepare these videos for this site but rather a group of friends who actually like to watch wildlife.

I watched your videos.

I have read every, every, thread and posting here on this Forum for the last three years. Just because I don't respond to every one (thank God you say) does not mean I don't appreciate them.

Since you request responses to your thread, here is mine. First, I don't like to watch videos on youtube. Second, the videos show me nothing new nor have anything unusual about them. Nor do they convey anything about you or your experience there. Third, your friends will NOT tell you when they find your videos or photos boooorrring. Neither will your mother. Ten minutes in the life of the day of a cheetah is about 9 minutes too long for me. So is ten minutes of watching cheetahs gnaw on an animal. Sorry, but I have the attention span of an eight year old. (Even though I'm closer to eighty than to eight).

regards - tom
ps - guess I'm proving your point !!!!!

Tom,

I was not having a go at you.
At least you commented even if you do not like them.

Anything to say on the Elephant Culling lack of debate?

That's ok, I didn't take it as such. I usually don't reply to a thread unless I can add something positive. There are many posts I disagree with but why be just argumentative?

As for elephant culling, I'm not very informed on the subject. So no comments, I made none. I have however seen what elephants did to some pieces of Botswana and there was nothing left to see except dirt. It was as if a bomb had cleared the land. At least that is what we were told, that the devastation was due to eles. I also heard that the elephant "cycle" is 300 to 500 years. Do we want the eles to over populate and eat/kill all vegetation in Kruger? Do we want Kruger to become barren land and then ALL of the wildlife die off? To have this natural run of cycle in Kruger? And then Kruger re-vitalizes itself? How? How could Kruger re-vitalize itself in todays surrounding human population? Is all of this just my ignorance on the subject? So, why further prove my ignorance by posting such? Anyway, I suspect the elephant culling question to complicated for most forum participants. When to keep your mouth shut shows intelligence in another way

Futhermore, many times when we think we have the answer to some such complex problem we only cause other problems. The use of DDT to me is a perfect example. We banned the use of DDT, how many people were ever killed by DDT? How many children have been killed by malaria?

Peace be with you brother. And, my goodness wasn't that opening ceremony to the Olympics something else !!!!!!!

regards - tom

I'm still very new to this forum but Geez, this guy is really too much. Why does he bother to post here at all-only negative comments and very rude.

Sniktalk: The other day when I made my suggestion to you in another thread, after I hit post I had a good laugh at myself when I glanced at the thread title! I am glad you didn’t, but you had every right to blast me as it is very selfish and arrogant of me to state my personal preference regarding the way you relate to fellow posters.

At least my weapon of suggestion was a sponge to be used as a stress releaser behind the scenes in private and I also really thought there was a chance that the concept would be helpful to you.

<b>Well, you have inspired me to be selfish and arrogant once again. </b>

My secret wish has been that no one would ever respond to your threads and posts and they just die from no attention. I’ve no doubt, my now two and only ever comments to you directly and all my others posts drive you crazy because we have totally different methods for participating in life. I actually think my post now and others who respond to this sort seem as *unstable* as the one we address! But I own both of my comments to you and shall suffer some madness at large by others and others who seem to get on with you that I admire I am sure.

This comment of yours is the main reason for me to engage, I did not want to leave it hanging for the new posters as insult to them.

Sniktawk wrote: ““Skirts and Bras are far more important as is what is the food and drink like, it is very sad” “

You are just plain bad for business. This comment is disrespectful. This is unwelcoming and more, deeper and performs no valuable function. If this forum were my responsibility, for the good of the group I would ban, not suspend you, for this and given your history of unending public bashing and disrespect of all Fodorites (actual people) and the Fodor’s forum.

I do not expect, nor do I think it is desirable, or practical for the posters to be intensely monitored on this type of forum. But if by chance the new posters see your comment, from that particular thread or from any of the threads that you have insinuated have no value -- I want them to know I find your comment unacceptable and I wish to welcome them to Fodor’s and encourage them to continue to participate.

You have never addressed me personally, but have pontificated about all Foderites and have not held back insults about every aspect of a Foderite, from our thinking skills to breathing is putting it mildly, in short, you have publicly stated that I [insert all Foderites] are pretty valueless. I have never felt this personally but you take away pleasure from the forum.

I honestly think it seems absolutely insane if to break down all your comments in this thread as an example to share with you in kind. Although you do not care, I will try to express how they show so many answers to why I personally am not attracted to engage and have never done so with you.

You do not bring an air of pleasantness about you and I have no clue what you know and will not learn from you whatever you have to talk about and continue to leave the threads with your disagreeable manner. I will choose to learn from someone more enjoyable. I have tried several times to see the something polite? etc. in you and have seen hints. I think my record on the forum would prove I would much rather be giving you a public compliment.

I ask you to print out your own words and read them far away from your computer or something to gain some perspective. Click on your name, read all your other comments here and over on SafariTalk and think about them as if they were said to you. Would you want to hang out with yourself?

You have no awareness of the amount of people or the caliber of the people that read Fodor’s and SafariTalk and don’t feel the need mark posts and try to dominate and control or care to follow in a pack. This is very shortsighted of you and you are not an asset to SafariTalk and you do deter participation and donor funds for the NGO’s there.

Den,

I have waited to respond to your violent tirade, frankly it is very dissapointing.
I have no idea why you choose to be so rude, the comment you refer to was not made by me but another with whom I agreed, apparently you think this is some kind of sin, yet only choose to criticise me.
Quite why you have chosen to respond in this manner is difficult to understand, obviously you do not understand humour.
Your prior posts do not indicate to me anything at all, yet you choose to read strange meanings into mine. You clearly have a problem, perhaps it is closely related to a well known object in your area?

In the meantime when you have something to say that is based on knowledge of the actual situation perhaps you will allow us the benefit of it until then do not criticise what you evidently do not understand.

Snik: I've never seen a cheetah (even in a photo) so high in a tree, seems like it would have been tough getting up and really hard to get down safely with cheetah paws, not made for climbing like a leopards. Interesting.

The three brothers were all amazing climbers, this tree was a favorite spot of theirs when in the Lebala area.
You may not have heard but it appears that another may have passed away, it is insensitively reported in the latest WS news from Duma Tau.
At least those of us who have followed them for many years will have fond memories.

There are pictures of them up the same tree on my website

http://sniktawkwild.zenfolio.com/p17...03A#1050394682

but you would not guess from these that it was so high
