Anyone know what happened to that Nyamera Girl?
A few months ago, there was a girl named Nyamera looking for a job in Nairobi.
Does anyone know which job she eventually took?
My friend has a nice craft shop in nairobi, and he would be interested in meeting Nyamera to see if she will help in the shop.
He's a good guy... and the pay would be good enough for her to live in Nairobi.
If anyone knows where she is, please have her contact me.

What?! Simbakubwa, are you serious? What skills does your friend think I possess? I’ll try to acquire those skills ASAP. What have you told him about me? I’ve devastated to say that I’ve been home for over 2 weeks. In Kenya I lost count of the people asking me to help them find a job. My email address is sannasusathotmaildotcom. Thanks for thinking of me!
Thanks to the Game Warden and Geoff at www.safaritalk.net for alerting me to this post!

Oh! You're back home already?
I thought you were still in Kenya and he could meet and interview you.
He was just looking for someone to manage his exclusive craft shop while he was away for the next 4-5 months.
It's too bad, I think you would have found it interesting, and it would have helped him out!

Simbakubwa, I was in Kenya for over 3 weeks.
The flights are a bit expensive at the moment to go to Kenya for an interview and there’s a risk your friend thinks I’m more qualified than I really am, but I do actually manage my own Kenyan crafts business and would definitely like to meet your friend next time I’m in Kenya.

Okay, I must have misunderstood.
I was under the impression you were going to Kenya to look for a job.
I'm sorry, my confusion.
That's too bad... he is hoping to leave next week for 4-5 months and I thought maybe you could have helped him out.
Oh well, maybe it will work the next time you go.
Hakuna matata.

I was going to Kenya to look for a job or any other way to be able to stay there, but there was no way. I’m extremely interested in knowing the name of your friend and his shop and would be very grateful if you would share it here or via email.

It is called Kumbu Kumbu and it is on the ground floor of the Hilton.
Mainly sells expensive art/carvings to Hilton guests.
It was just an idea.
Now... if you've been back for two weeks already... where is your trip report?!

Simbakubwa, this is very interesting. I’ve seen Kumbu Kumbu. Why would he be interesting in having an unknown tourist without a work permit managing his shop while he’s away instead of someone he knows and is already working with him? Did you mention that I import crafts from Kenya?
I’m writing a trip report, but for some reason I’m only on day 4. I’ll post the first part when I’ve finished day 9.

Leely2, I’ve just started writing on day 6. I have concentration problems, memory loss and for once there are some Fodorites that will meet people that I’m writing about and that makes me wonder if it’s really appropriate to write “everything”. :-S
Dennis, since you’ve done an excellent job promoting topis on Hawaii, I didn’t think another competition was necessary.
Lynn, I was going to tell you that you can’t post any reports before I’ve posted mine, but now I’ve seen it’s already too late. You make me look very inefficient.

Hi Nyamera...don't mean to be a pain but now you've really got my curiousity peaked!
Just wondering if there's "anything" that we should know, that perhaps by knowing beforehand, could help us on our safari?
I don't want to make it uncomfortable or awkward for you, PLEASE...tell it like it is. You have such a flair for doing just that - probably a big reason you're such a popular member of this forum.
So, yes, writing "everything" is really quite appropriate...

Somuch2c, the only thing i can think of that would be useful to know is that the sun is fierce, but as you’ll probably have the “new Landcruiser” with a sunroof, that’s not an issue.
If you promise not to tell anyone in Kenya that I write trip reports, I’ll write “everything”, or at least everything I remember. I think I might even sacrifice my popularity on Fodor’s on the altar of the art of trip report writing.
