Back from Kenya and Tanzania ...and South Africa
Hi....we are back home after a month in Africa...first 8 days in SA which surprised us in a nice way...we were not going to SA but then our flight had an stopover there and decided to drive along...great experience...wonderful guest houses..friendly people, lovely landscapes and great food and wine
Now Kenya...we did enjoy so much from Aberdares, for me the less interesting of all but very nice as an starter...we stayed at The Ark and was better than I thought after reading some reports..
Lake Nakuro not that awfull as someone told on one forum....beautiful pink flamingos...a shame the lake contamination..
Masai Mara...dream place...we got to see all the different animals even black rhino....thrilling experience!
Going to Tanzania was another surprise..better prepared than we was told...better roads than in Kenya.
We enjoyed Lake Manyara, Serengeti (although our lodge was the Lobo, pretty far...it was good to share with less vehicles during the safaris..) then Oldupai and Ngorongoro..for me Garden of Eden..We stayed at beautiful and peaceful Farm House,,,is out of the crater but at the end of safari time it was a blessing to enjoy the place, pool, food and landscape.
After reading many posts and doing my personal experience I want to share with those going to Africa for the first time these thoughts///Try to get the best you can...but don-t get mad about going to every where, going to the best place, best location, getting the best guide...going the best season...Africa is there...go and enjoy!
Is such a different world a different experience and every day is not as the other....I loved every moment...I want to thank to all the members who encourage me and gave me advice before the trip...and I want to encourage all of you thinking on going to Africa...it worth!

Welcome home and glad you had such a good experience. You're right, we all try to optimize every park and camp for the best of the best. But it's all good, even though I don't like that phrase, it really applies to Africa.
