Anybody used Classic Africa to plan a safari?

We are planning a first time safari. I've been talking with Classic Africa Safaris. Everything seems great. Super website, excellent responsiveness to inquiries, clearly knowledgable. Just wondering if anybody out there has worked with them? The onsite reviews are of course fabulous, but I'm trying to cast a wider net to see what folks have to say. Thank you.

Hi Birdi - I have never booked with Classic Africa because they are a competitor of my company. With that said, I have an extremely high regard for them and I strongly encourage you to book with them. I communicate regularly with Pierre, the owner and I know him personally. He is one of the most articulate and intelligent people I have ever met. I believe he has a degree from Oxford (if that means anything).

They are highly ethical and highly reputable. They deliberately choose to operate a smaller scale operation than many other safari companies but still have the best buying power and "clout" I sense they run under the radar so they can give great service which you have noted!

I hope this helps.

Yes. They are wonderful. They arranged two flawless trips for us. Even when I called in a panic a few days before we were set to go with an emergency change. I can't say enough good things about them. They do specialize in higher end trips (as most U.S. based safari agents do) but when we wanted to arrange a more affordable trip for our second time, they again came through with a perfectly arranged trip. I love their newsletters that I still get!
