Alamo Quarry Market

Look for the distinctive smokestacks at this open-air shopping, dining, and entertainment center (the area was once a cement factory). Today, Alamo Quarry Market includes a Regal movie theater complex and many standard mall stores, such as Gap, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Williams Sonoma. This entire area boasts many retail offerings. Quarry Village is across from Quarry Market, and the nearby Shops at Lincoln Heights are at the intersection of Broadway and East Basse Road.

Andersonville Galleria

With hundreds of local artists and vendors across multiple floors, this is a one-stop shop for gifts, clothes, jewelry, snacks, and fun stuff to bring home for your kids (and your pets too!). The Asheville Cotton Mill

This 1887 brick building, one of the oldest industrial buildings in Asheville, is a former factory once owned by Moses H. Cone, whose family mansion is on the Blue Ridge Parkway. With an exterior covered by a colorful mural, it's home to a music venue, photographers, boutique seamstresses, and a trendy tattoo studio.

Azeka Shopping Center

Spread across two complexes on either side of South Kihei Road, this no-frills shopping center is in the heart of Kihei. The mall has more than 50 stores, including a scuba shop for rentals and dive bookings. It also has a gas station, several great takeout and dine-in restaurants, a coffee shop, a post office, and ample free parking.

Bahama Village

Where to start your shopping adventure? This cluster of spruced-up shops, restaurants, and vendors is responsible for the restoration of the colorful historic district where Bahamians settled in the 19th century. The village lies roughly between Whitehead and Fort Streets and Angela and Catherine Streets. Hemingway frequented the bars, restaurants, and boxing rings in this part of town.

Bazaar del Mundo Shops

Old Town

With a Mexican villa theme, the Bazaar hosts riotously colorful gift shops such as Ariana, for ethnic and artsy women's fashions; Artes de Mexico, which sells handmade Latin American crafts and Guatemalan weavings; and The Gallery, which carries handmade jewelry, Native American crafts, collectible glass, and original silk-screen prints. Biltmore Fashion Park

Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Ralph Lauren anchor more than 70 stores and upscale boutiques in this posh, parklike setting. It's accessible from the Camelback Esplanade and The Camby hotel by a pedestrian tunnel that runs beneath Camelback Road.

This popular family-run shopping center has its roots in the Chinese immigrants who came to Hawaii in the early 19th century. Coconut Grove Marketplace

This meandering oceanfront marketplace includes gift shops, cafés, restaurants (including Outback Steakhouse, Humpy's Big Island Alehouse, Thai Rin, Lava Java, Foster's Kitchen, and Gecko Girlz), sports bars, sushi, boutiques, crystal stores, Jack's Diving Locker, a running shop, and several art galleries. At night, locals gather to watch outdoor sand volleyball games held in the courtyard or grab a beer and enjoy live music. Directly adjacent is Alii Sunset Plaza, which is served by the same large paid parking lot. (Parking may be validated by some retailers.)

Coconut Point

A 500-acre planned community is home to one of the area's largest shopping complexes, with more than 140 stores, including upscale boutiques and big-box retailers, as well as plenty of big-name restaurants. There's a boardwalk for a breather between impulse purchases and a castle-theme kids' play area.

Cove Marketplace

Whether you're at Port Canaveral for a cruise or are just passing through, this area on the south side of the harbor has shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, including the seven-story Exploration Tower. Since most of the bars and eateries are located on the public waterfront area, you'll have a great view of the cruise ships.
