Old Wilmington City Market

Downtown

A bookstore, a woodwork-focused gift shop, a tattoo parlor, clothing boutiques, and a coffee bar are among the businesses sharing space in this 1880 building that once housed the city's farmers' market.

Opry Mills

Opryland/Music Valley

Opry Mills is the be-all end-all of malls in Tennessee. In fact, it’s so gigantic that it has its own exit off of Briley Parkway. There are more than 200 stores inside, both outlet and retail, covering every corner of the shopping landscape: shoes, clothes, sporting goods, hunting gear, handbags, and multiple vendors who sell nothing but cowboy boots. And the brands cover just as wide a spectrum, from Coach to rue21. The layout is a huge oval, so there are no shortcuts as you make a full lap around this hall of commerce. When you’ve reached your shopping limit, catch a movie at the Regal Opry Mills IMAX & RPX and enjoy a bottle of Nashville craft beer. For food, Chuy’s Mexican Food is the best pick for both flavor and value, and Aquarium Restaurant is an excellent choice if you’re willing to shell out a little more for the dreamy experience of dining surrounded by a 200,000-gallon saltwater aquarium.

The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk Marketplace

Warehouse District

Built in what was once the International Pavilion for the 1984 World's Fair, the Outlet Collection at Riverwalk is an upscale outlet mall with shops such as Neiman Marcus Last Call, Johnston & Murphy Factory Store, and outlets for Coach, Forever 21, Croc's, Chico's, and Steve Madden. Outside the mall is Spanish Plaza, the scene of frequent outdoor concerts and special events. In the food court area, check out Mr. Shrimp's Kitchen---the owner Larry Thompson, the local seafood wunderkind, supplies restaurants all over town with fresh crustaceans.

Ovation Hollywood

Hollywood

If you're on the hunt for unique boutiques, look elsewhere. However, if you prefer the biggest retail chains America has to offer, Ovation Hollywood is a great spot for a shopping spree. Beauty and sports stores, and the official Dodgers Clubhouse filled with team apparel, are in the mix. Sadly, the original courtyard that pays tribute to the city's film legacy is no longer there, replaced by a more modern space, but if you head to the north-facing balconies, you will find a picture-perfect view of the Hollywood sign. Heads up that this place is a huge tourist magnet.

Park Meadows

The upscale Park Meadows is a mall designed to resemble a ski resort, with a 120-foot-high log-beam ceiling anchored by two massive stone fireplaces. The center includes nearly 100 specialty shops. On snowy days, "ambassadors" scrape your windshield while free hot chocolate is served inside.

Parker Ranch Center

With a welcoming, ranch-style motif, this shopping hub includes a large supermarket, some fun food court eateries, gift shops, and clothing boutiques. During the holidays, they install a very large Christmas tree and garlands by their classic stone fireplace, great for photos.

Parker Square

Although the Gallery of Great Things, known for art and collectibles, is this shopping center's star attraction, it's also worth looking into the Waimea General Store; Sweet Wind, for books, chimes, and beads; Bentley's, which sells locally crafted and imported home decor and gifts; and Hula Moon, for upscale women's fashions. Waimea Coffee Company satisfies with salads, sandwiches, and Kona coffee.
