Prince Kuhio Plaza

The Big Island's most comprehensive mall has indoor shopping, entertainment (a multiplex), and dining, including KFC, Hot Dog on a Stick, Cinnabon, Genki Sushi, IHOP, and Maui Tacos. The kids might like the arcade (near the food court), while you enjoy the stores, anchored by Macy's and Old Navy.

Princeville Shopping Center

The big draws at this small center are a full-service grocery store and a hardware store, but there's also the North Shore General Store (famed for its burgers and other food to-go), a fun toy store, a bar, a mailing service, a nice sandal boutique, women's clothing, and an ice cream shop. This is also the last stop for gas and banking when you're heading west along the North Shore.

Prize

In the 2nd Street shopping district, Prize has branded itself as “an urban department store” where you’ll find women's clothing and menswear, ultra-modern furniture, and super-chic coffee table books. Although you likely wouldn’t trade a trip to Prize for one to, say, Texas-grown Neiman Marcus for basics, the store has boutique-like finds that, we'll say it, take the prize.

Prospect Harbor Soap Co. at HarborGirl Emporium

Sold at retailers throughout New England and made at the owner's home in Prospect Harbor, these paraben- and sulfate-free all-natural soaps and skin-care products fill two display areas at HarborGirl Emporium, housed in an 1800s barn and stocked with kitchen items, children's toys, stationery goods, holiday decor, and more. Along with about a dozen varieties of avocado oil soap, such as Gardener's with lemon or cranberry, the brand's many offerings include wild blueberry shea butter/jojoba lotion and sea salt scrub and its men's Vagabond line.

Prototype Vintage

South Austin

Blend in with the locals at this carefully curated boutique, featuring men's, women's, and children's vintage clothing, plus heaps of hats, sunglasses, shoes, and jewelry. The back room has full racks of unisex T-shirts, and there's a great selection of denim. Feathers, located next door, is another fun shop to pop into.

Providence Place

Macy's, Boscov's, an Apple Store, and the new Level99 entertainment complex are among the anchor tenants at this large mall with dozens of restaurants that include the Cheesecake Factory and P. F. Chang's. Also here are Dave & Buster's and a 16-screen cinema and IMAX theater. Parking in the garage is free for the first two hours.

Providore Fine Foods

This sleek gourmet market features the artisanal and local fare of several notable Portland purveyors, including Little T Baker, Rubinette Produce, Arrosto (which turns out delicious Mediterranean-style rotisserie chicken), and Pastaworks, plus a lovely flower shop. It's a terrific source for picnic supplies, and there's table seating.

Provo Towne Centre

On the south end of Provo, this mall has mainstream retailers like JCPenney and Bath & Body Works, plus a food court and a Cinemark movie theater. It's open 10–6 Monday through Saturday and noon–6 on Sunday.

Prudential Center

Back Bay

A skywalk connects Copley Place to the Prudential Center. The Pru, as it's often called, contains popular chain stores such as Vineyard Vines, Canada Goose, Kate Spade, and Sephora and is anchored by Saks 5th Avenue. Along with the Pru's food court, check out Eataly for plenty of Italy-centric food options, both to-go and dine-in. The Pru is also the meeting place for Boston Duck Tours and the home of the new View Boston, an observatory perched 52 floors in the air atop the center.

Psychic Eye Book Shop

Even when Las Vegas was a smaller town in the 1980s, this was the place to go for hypnotherapy, psychic readings, and past-life regressions. Behind the innocuous strip-mall facade are all sorts of esoteric books, lucky talismans, tarot cards, and candles. Another Las Vegas location closed in 2025.

Pueblo Trading Post

Pueblo Trading Post dates back "only" to 1980 but is housed in a 1920s carved sandstone building that was once a more traditional trading post and has earned a solid reputation for the quality of its silver and pottery, which is all made by Zuni, Navajo, and Hopi craftspeople from the surrounding region.

Purple Door Ice Cream

Walker's Point

Ice cream dreams come true at this local small-batch scoop shop in the carbon-neutral Fix Building. Owner Lauren Schultz and her husband Steve run the business, making silky, rich artisan ice cream by hand, using local ingredients whenever possible. They create mouthwatering flavors such as salted caramel, green tea and bacon. Feel less guilty about the creamy calories knowing that the milk comes from Wisconsin cows, and a portion of profits helps provide milk to Milwaukee homeless shelters.

Inside the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront, Pussers Company Store is part of a small chain originating in another big sailing destination, the British Virgin Islands. The store peddles Pussers Rum merchandise as well as seasonal chutneys, nautical knickknacks, purses, and sundries, but the main product here is nautical clothing—raffia hats, khaki shorts, and pin-striped shirts with collars—that will have you looking the part of a sailor.

Queen Kaahumanu Center

Maui's largest shopping center has more than 100 stores and restaurants, a movie theater, and a food court. Its attractive rooftop, with its manta ray–like umbrella shades, is easy to spot. Stop at Camellia Seeds for what locals call "crack seed," a snack made from dried fruits, or swing by 180 Boardshop for Hawaii-based streetwear like 808 All Day or In4mation. For surf-inspired gear, visit The Foam Company and Shapers. Other stops include Macy's, PacSun, Bath & Body Works, and American Eagle Outfitters. In addition to its retail-therapy offerings, the mall hosts a creative, monthly lineup of events, including a farmers' market, concerts, and car shows.

Queens' MarketPlace

The largest shopping complex on the Kohala Coast houses fashionable clothing stores, jewelry boutiques, galleries, gift shops, and restaurants such as Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Kuleana Rum Shack, and Romano's Macaroni Grill. Island Gourmet Markets, Starbucks, and an affordable food court are other options. Waikoloa Luxury Cinemas offers the ultimate movie experience and includes a restaurant called Bistro at the Cinemas, which is a worth a stop even if you don't hit a show with dinner.
