Clark Park Farmers Market

University City

Coming to Saturday's farmers' market, open 10 am–2 pm, is reason enough to stroll around Clark Park with a coffee, fresh bread, and a hunk of cheese. The market grows in size in relation to the fairness of the weather. The park, especially from May into September, often has additional events on weekends, including the Clark Park Music Fest, Shakespeare in Clark Park, and craft fairs. The Green Line Cafe is a good coffee shop on the opposite corner.

Clematis Street

If lunching is just as important as window-shopping, the renewed downtown West Palm around Clematis Street that runs west to east from South Rosemary Avenue to Flagler Drive is the spot for you. Centennial Park by the waterfront has an attractive design—and fountains where kids can cool off—which adds to the pleasure of browsing and resting at one of the many outdoor cafés. Hip national retailers such as Design Within Reach mix with local boutiques like third-generation Pioneer Linens, and both blend in with restaurants and bars.

Cleo the Gallery

This gallery gives under-exhibited artists well-deserved honorariums along with a platform to showcase their artworks, which range from painting and sculpture to video and installation. With five major exhibitions each year, there’s always something fresh on view here, and visitors can enjoy artist talks with local makers nearly every Saturday.

Clock Shadow Creamery

Sharing an address and a passion for milky goodness with Purple Door Ice Cream, local cheesemonger Bob Wills uses hormone–free milk from cows just outside Milwaukee to produce his delectable curds, mozzarella, ricotta and other cheeses. The name stems from its location just a few blocks from the landmark Allen-Bradley Clock Tower. Large windows to the street give a peek into the production process, but you'll really want to go inside to get a taste (or two).

Cobra Rock

It takes cobblers Colt Miller and Logan Caldbeck four days to make a single pair of their superhip, square-toe, lace-up, South Highland leather boots—which, by the way, come with a 10-month-long waiting list. According to Colt, the 1940s-inspired, Western-flavor boots look better the longer you kick up dust in them. So sashay over to the store that sits catty-corner from Marfa Ballroom, take off your shoes, get measured, pull out your wallet, and think about how great it will be to open a box from Cobra Rock when it finally arrives. In the meantime, watch the artisans at work and buy one of the T-shirts, screen printed by—wait for it—Miller and Caldbeck.

Cocoa Village

You could spend hours browsing in the more than 50 boutiques here, along Brevard Avenue as well as Harrison Street, which has the densest concentration of shops. Although most stores are of the gift and clothing variety, the village is also home to antiques shops, art galleries, restaurants, breweries, a tattoo parlor, a bakery for pets, and a spa. Most businesses (even the pubs) are dog-friendly.

Coconut Grove Marketplace

This meandering oceanfront marketplace includes gift shops, cafés, restaurants (including Outback Steakhouse, Humpy's Big Island Alehouse, Thai Rin, Lava Java, Foster's Kitchen, and Gecko Girlz), sports bars, sushi, boutiques, crystal stores, Jack's Diving Locker, a running shop, and several art galleries. At night, locals gather to watch outdoor sand volleyball games held in the courtyard or grab a beer and enjoy live music. Directly adjacent is Alii Sunset Plaza, which is served by the same large paid parking lot. (Parking may be validated by some retailers.)

Coconut Point

A 500-acre planned community is home to one of the area's largest shopping complexes, with more than 140 stores, including upscale boutiques and big-box retailers, as well as plenty of big-name restaurants. There's a boardwalk for a breather between impulse purchases and a castle-theme kids' play area.

CocoWalk

This three-story, indoor-outdoor mall anchors the Grove's shopping scene, and a recent renovation has given it new life. Once filled with cheesy, touristy kiosks and chain restaurants, it's now home to many local shops and some quality restaurants, like Mister 01 Extraordinary Pizza, PLANTA Queen, and Sushi Garage. On the top floor sits Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas, a multiscreen, state-of-the-art movie theater with a wine bar and lounge and in-seat food service. Overall, the space mixes the bustle of a mall with the breathability of an open-air market.

Cody Country Art League
