Farley's Bookshop

Fodor's choice

The shelves of employee-owned Farley's, a New Hope institution since 1967 and nicely renovated in 2023, hold ample choices, including books about the region. Staff picks, signed copies of local writers' works, children's books (in a special area), small press favorites, and cards and book-related merch: it's all here for the browsing, with staff happy to offer suggestions.

Peddler's Village

In 1962, the late Earl Jamison moved some 18th-century houses to a 6-acre site and opened small, mostly locally owned specialty shops and restaurants that today, in a much-expanded form, cater to tourists and locals seeking a pleasant shopping experience. Some 55 shops in the well-landscaped, 42-acre villagelike setting peddle clothing, jewelry, housewares, crafts, gift items, toys, and more. There's also an inn, the Golden Plough, a dozen or so food and drink options, and ample parking. Giggleberry Fair offers the 1922 Grand Carousel and indoor games for kids; admission is charged. The many seasonal and holiday events draw big crowds. Check Peddler's Village app for discounts.
