Vino has a lock on local oenophiles, who make a beeline for this wine bar and restaurant, and neighborhood regulars who gather for pau hana with friends and co-workers. Chef Keith Endo creates his take on contemporary Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, including house-made pastas, jumbo shrimp in a resonant cioppino sauce, and Big Island smoked pork, all paired with wines selected by the nationally recognized sommelier Chuck Furuya. He makes sure food and service are grade-A quality amid a let-your-hair-down atmosphere. Like most tapas joints, the bill can add up quickly, particularly while the wine is flowing, but most diners find it worth every penny. Vino is well situated for stopping off between downtown sightseeing and a return to your Waikiki hotel.
