Fodor's Expert Review Himalayan Kitchen
Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.
Owned by a Nepalese chef, Himalayan Kitchen aims to serve all the cuisines of that high-altitude region, and the menu tries to stretch a bit beyond Indian standards—curries, biriyanis, tandoori grills. Hawaii is not an epicenter of Indian cuisine, so this joint does what it can to introduce new flavors while staying true to the standbys. Nepalese dishes include momo (dumplings) and Kathmandu shrimp chili. Get a seat in the outdoor patio and don't forget to bring some ice cold beer—the place is BYOB.
