Relive Your Favorite ’90s Teen Drama at These ‘Clueless’ Filming Locations in L.A.

Channel Cher Horowitz with these destinations straight out of the movie.

OMG are you totally buggin’ that Clueless is 25 years old!? The Alicia Silverstone film that turned her into a household name is celebrating its quarter-life birthday. So, let’s party and paint the town red by taking a virtual LA-tour to visit all the most memorable locations from our favorite ’90s flick. Ready to go rollin’ with the homies?

1 OF 12

Cher’s House

WHERE: Encino

With “columns dating all the way back to 1972,” Cher’s Beverly Hills mansion is actually in the Valley! You can scope out the exterior of the house at 5148 Louise Avenue in Encino, where many of the movie’s iconic scenes took place, like when Cher watched “Sporaticus” with Christian and where she had her first kiss with Josh on the grand staircase.

2 OF 12

Dionne’s House

WHERE: Beverly Hills

Blast “I’m Just a Girl” by No Doubt as you cruise by Dionne’s Beverly Hills house at 705 N. Sierra Drive and pretend that you’re Cher picking up your bestie for school. “Dionne and I were both named after great singers of the past who now do infomercials,” which is why we love their total kindred spirit-ness.

3 OF 12

Circus Liquor

WHERE: North Hollywood

The infamous circus clown neon sign sits at Circus Liquor, where Cher got mugged wearing her red “totally important designer” Alaia dress. Stop for the beer and a photo op with the clown, but avoid any creepy dudes who don’t get fashion. “An a-what-a?” Come on L.A. mugger, know your red carpet looks!

4 OF 12

Westfield Fashion Square

WHERE: Sherman Oaks

Want to meet some “generic barneys” at Foot Locker? Hop over to this valley hang to get all the ’90s mall feels you could ask for. Just try to avoid getting hung over the railing by those barneys like Tai did, unless you have a Christian Stovitz waiting by the escalators to rescue you.

5 OF 12

Shoreline Village

WHERE: Long Beach

Give “two enthusiastic thumbs up” to the spot where Travis Birkenstock nailed his amateur skateboarding competition with Tai and Cher watching from the audience, bro. Pop down to Long Beach and see if you can woo some on-lookers with killer half pipe moves just like Travis…which totally helped him woo Tai!

6 OF 12

The Valley Party House

WHERE: Granada Hills

Who’s ready for a house party? Drive by 16401 Knollwood Dr. to see where Elton became infatuated with Cher during a game of “kiss and blow,” where Murray “keeps it real” by shaving his head with his buddies as Dionne freaks, and where Tai goes “rollin’ with the homies” before getting hit in the head with a clog as the Coolio jam plays in the background. Ahhh, the nostalgia of a high school house party. [Cue hand rolling movement here!]

7 OF 12

Rodeo Drive

WHERE: Beverly Hills

Cher took to Rodeo Drive for retail therapy after some “way harsh” words were said to her by her besties, so head to Tiffany & Co for some window shopping to turn that frown upside down. Located in the heart of Beverly Hills, the chicest designer stores will help avoid any Cher-wannabe asking if you prefer “fashion victim” or just “ensembly challenged” when it comes to your look.

8 OF 12

Occidental College

WHERE: Los Angeles

While Cher, Dionne, Tai, Elton, Murray, Travis, and Amber were all students at faux-named Bronson Alcott High School in Beverly Hills, the exterior scenes were actually shot at Occidental College. Head to Oxy’s Academic Quad to see the grassy knoll where Cher tells Tai that the loadies hang. “Sometimes they come to class and say bonehead things, and we all laugh of course, but no respectable girl actually dates them.”

9 OF 12

The Witch's House/Spadena House

WHERE: Beverly Hills

After failing her driver’s test and getting told by Tai that she’s “a virgin who can’t drive,” Cher takes her “nice stems” on a walk through Beverly Hills. While she’s straight “wiggin,’” she passes the iconic Witch’s House at 516 Walden Drive that legit feels like a fairy tale cottage. A block away from the Waldorf-Astoria, this iconic home is not to be missed on any Betty or Baldwin’s L.A. tour.

10 OF 12

West Shoreline Drive

WHERE: Long Beach

The L.A. freeways are daunting to anyone, especially newly-licensed teens, so when Dionne, Murray, and Cher accidentally drive onto the 405 freeway ramp, the most major freak-out goes down. Cher and Dionne scream while Murray yells “Get out of the lane! Don’t go. Forget procedure, just get out of the lane! Truck, truck, truck, truck! Ahhh!” as they almost collide with a truck. Luckily the trio in a red Beamer convertible makes it off the freeway safely. In this case, the freeway was actually a four-lane street in Long Beach.

11 OF 12

Geffen Contemporary at MOCA

WHERE: Los Angeles

The ’90s were iconic for punk ska, so it made total sense for The Mighty Mighty Bosstones to show up and play at a fraternity party in Clueless. While you can’t go party and listen to bands at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA today (“as if”), you can head to downtown L.A. to check out the chic installations while listening to “Where’d You Go” on your iPhone. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones still just as “kickin’” now as they were when Cher was dancing along to them in 1995.

12 OF 12

Electric Fountain

WHERE: Beverly Hills

There’s nothing like a choreographed water display to symbolize an epiphany in a film! Head over to the Electric Fountain at North Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills to stand in the exact spot where Cher finally realizes that she’s in love with her stepbrother Josh. “I’m in love! I’m majorly, totally, butt crazy in love with Josh!”
