Once upon a time people managed to be perfectly happy without all our modern luxuries, and this hotel within the historic village is a true lodging experience for those who can go without them and enjoy the ensuing tranquillity. Rooms are comfortable, furnished with antiques, and decorated in period style with such features as old-fashioned wallpaper and lace curtains. Private bathrooms are also fitted out in keeping with the era, including the presence of claw-foot bathtubs. It makes for a unique, almost theatrical, experience in historic surroundings.
