The imp hasn't critisized me on this thread, yet. I guess I've gotten too boring for it.

I've simply gone after it in other posts. WTH, or is it WTF.

I said that I thought he was born in 1946 - and that is, in fact, correct.

Wonder if there will ever be an explanation for the two conflicting posts regarding money belt use?

It's amusing that this thread is listed under "Recent Popular Topics", when only the first five posts are responsive. I guess Fodor's only counts the number of posts, not their content.

Can't say I'm familiar with the OP - who doesn't seem to fall under "Recent Popular Posters" - but this thread topic seems pretty innocuous.

It might have been an interesting discussion in the lounge.

<It might have been an interesting discussion in the lounge.>

He isn't allowed in the lounge thankfully.

All is eerily quiet...maybe he has 'left the building' permanently.

panecott, I'd send you to read thru the various insults (it's quite a long list how mundane to stupid he thinks we all are here) but mostly the offensive posts have been deleted.

...even called us "old women", first he said "a bunch of middle aged women" but then he bumped it up. Told me to go to the shopping mall -lol!

Fairly interesting that he stopped posting on TT at about the same time he started here. Was he given a time out or did he just want fresh blood to torture?

I pegged him as a troll early on. I guess Fodor's does not have a "no trolling" standard of behavior.

He annoyed me seriously on another thread on Fodors. So I googled one of the things he said very often - his Rule of Three or something like that. Bingo, same language and same persona on another forum, and about 3000 posts to amuse me. So, he drove a 1965 bright red rag top MGB car on Rhodes, said last year that he had qualified for the aged pension a year before, wore a money belt, never wore a money belt, backpacked, stayed in five star places, three compasses (count 'em), knew the weight of everything in his bag.

I doubt we will see him again - hoist on his own petard.

Really the main thing I don't like about him (besides all the lies) is that he kept insulting this forum and everyone on it. I mean who does that? Calling people names, saying how superior he is to everyone here. I'm really surprised they put up with him on Lonely Planet.

Lonely Planet has a much looser standard, lots of slagging allowed. I thought at first he would adapt to the Fodor's culture, but clearly he came here to antagonize and feed his massive ego. I really don't understand why Fodor's who is so quick to ban people, let him continue and spent all that time locking threads and deleting posts. If I believed in consipiracies, Fodor's solicited him to come here to boost the post count, since the Lounge is closed?

BTW Isn't a massive ego often a sign of deficiencies in other areas?

migb,

Now you're getting away from his wonderful personality.

Supposition that goes beyond the basic forum is not my cup of tea.

Wow! I never heard of him before this thread. Guess I don't spend enough time away from the lounge, and it sure looks like I didn't miss much!

>>> Told me to go to the shopping mall -lol! >>>

suze, I hope you told HIM where to go! ;-)

Actually I thought he was pretty funny. He had all these preconceived notions about various posters that couldn't have been more off-base. Like he kept trying to send me on "packaged tours" for some strange reason. Even planned a trip for me from Seattle, going to Vancouver, flying to Europe, then taking a two week package to Greece. (I never asked a thing about any of this.)

Then when he decided we were all old and boring, he used the "shopping mall" insult. Which is hysterical because I hate shopping and you can't drag me to the mall.

On and on it went like this. He was mostly on the Travel Tips branch is probably why you didn't have the pleasure of meeting him.
