Your Best Island Drink Recipe Please

I am: Ultra-uncool kindergarten teacher, tired, glad it's summer!
Travel destination: North shore Kauai condo
The scene: Ocean front lanai overlooking Bali Hai
My request: A recipe for a tasty blender drink-alcohol OK!

I know you will be in a condo, but I'm not sure how many ingredients you will want to buy. I would recommend you go to webtender.com for some cocktails. My fave blender drink is the Moana Sands, served at the Sheraton Moana in Waikiki. http://www.webtender.com/db/drink/4733

1/2 oz Chambord raspberry liqueur
1 1/2 oz Peach schnapps
Coconut syrup
Orange juice
Crushed Ice
Mixing instructions:
Pour Chambord and Peach schnapps over crushed ice in a collins glass. Fill up to half with coconut syrup and fill the other half with orange juice and stir. After a few minutes the juice and syrup separate from the alchohol and it looks like sand but tastes MUCH better. Garnish with paper umbrella through a marachino cherry and orange wedge.

How about a Pain Killer ---from the British Virgin Islands. Use Pusser's Rum or a good dark rum and mix it with coconut milk---forgot the brand name coco lopez?? with pineapple and orange juice and then top with freshly ground nutmeg-------the fresh grind really makes it!! have fun!

While not exactly a Hawaiian drink, I've taken the Hurricane and Cyclone drink mixes (from New Orleans)when we rented a condo down in Mexico. You can pick up the drink mixes at Cost Plus to pack and then buy a bottle of rum (Hurricane) or vodka (Cyclone) when you get to Kauai - much easier than getting a bunch of ingredients for a week's stay.

If you're having a party, try yuccas: get a large glass container with lid (sun-tea type bottle which must have a wide mouth) fill it with:
1 bottle of vodka
1 cup of sugar
6 lemons cut in half
3 limes cut in half
fill up with ice.
Now, here comes the hard part: twist a towel securely around the bottle, and have two people grab each end of said towel. Shake this baby until your arms give out, then pass it to 2 other people. You'll know you're done when the ice is slightly melted and the fruit is smashed. (Takes about 20 minutes)
Tastes EXACTLY like lemonade - be careful - this one will really sneak up on you!

It would be a shame not to mention the Mai Tai.
Recipes available everywhere, just don't forget the fresh flower and umbrella garnish.

Kauai's answer to New Orleans' Hurricane, the Wiki Waki Woo!

Vodka, Rum, 151 Rum, Tequila, Triple Sec, Amaretto mixed with OJ, Pineapple and cranberry....over crushed ice!
After 2, your Wiki Waki will get up and go WOOOOO!

Plus, the world's best mai tai from Karen at the Sand Bar.

Then my old friend, Fire Rock Pale Ale! Twist and pour!

More Caribbean, perhaps, but one of my favorites:

YELLOW BIRD

1 ounce of rum
1/4 ounce Galliano
1/4 ounce Creme de banana
2-1/2 ounce orange juice
1 ounce pineapple juice

Blend in a mixer and serve over ice. Garnish with an orange slice
and a cherry.

At the Mauna Lani Bay on the Big Island, they serve these fabulous drinks--called a Tropical Itch--with a wooden backscratcher!!
Recipe:
Fill 23 1/2 oz. Hurricane glass with shaved ice. Squeeze 1/2 lime (I use more) and leave shell in glass. Add:
2 dashes of bitters
dash of orange Curacao
1/2 oz. bourbon
1/2 oz. dark rum
Fill glass with Hawaiian Passion Fruit Juice below neck of glass. Mix with bar spoon and add more shaved ice.
Float 1 1/4 oz of 151 proof Rum.
Garnish with sprig of mint, cherry, pineapple wedge and vanda orchid. Complete drink with long straw and back scratcher!
