Actually about 150,000 people a year stay there. Thanks for asking. Even I have a couple of times including 4 nights early June.

Has anyone stayed at Yosemite Lodge who would be kind enough to share some reviews of the place?

I wrote about this to another post just today so please forgive me if you've already read it. We stayed there earlier this year and enjoyed it. It is basic and clean with no TV or music. I would suggest if this bothers you to take a cd player as radio does not come in. The location is awesome! The beauty that surrounds you, so worth your while! The restaurant is good and ask for a windown seat, you will be right in front of Yosemite Falls. You can have breakfast at the cafeteria in the mornings. They have a store that sells sandwiches, wine etc if you want to take a picnic lunch somewhere. They have a huge swimming pool. The shuttle picks up directly in front of the registation desk. It is a good choice, you will love staying there.

I've never stayed at the Lodge - we prefer to camp in the tent cabins at the Housekeeping Camp - but I have been by there and can vouch for the location. It is right in the center of Yosemite Village and very convinient to the restaurants, shuttle bus, and tours. It's a good base for exploring the valley.

I have heard that the interior of the rooms is very basic, but clean and comfortable. It's the location that you are paying for, not any hotel amenities.

Excuse my smartass reponse but you didn't ask anything in particular and like the other responder above I had just written some comments about it as well to another question about Yosemite lodging. Directed at no one in particular other than anyone who might read this, but alot of people don't understand the value of the search tool. You will get dozens of great responses in the archives as the same questions are asked over and over. I have planned several great trips doing just that.

The lodge is a basic motel --- its edge over every other site in the valley (except Ahwanee) is that it actually is a basic motel with shower and tub and toilets and doors and beds etc. the Ahwahnee is just a very expensive hotel.
If you want comfort you go to the Lodge but don't expect too nice or fancy even tho it costs alot. The alternative is >$300 at Ahwahnee or a tent cabin. yes it costs over $140 a nite if I recall from my 4 nites there in June. It is located right below Yosemite Falls. They said the rooms have been "recently renovated" but they look like basic 1960's spartan decor inside. Enjoy Yosemite -- don't spend any time in your room except to sleep and shower.

correction -- there were 2 diff posts in the last day that I had responded to with comments about Yosemite Lodge. Just to see -- I typed the words "yosemite lodge" in that little box up above called text search and hit find and got 35 diff postings with dozens of replies just from this year of which were rich with info. Took 10 seconds. ITs a good way to "mine" all the info people stick on this board

I was there in 93, finding it basic but for sure enough for what I want: a clean room, unbeateble location, and a shower. will repeat in a months time, as my needs are the same, almost for Yosemite: staying outside ! Read now it's about 110 $ a night, but also read that is much better than starying outside the park. Not many time to loose on this question

The one thing that struck me when we stayed at the lodge was how clean and reasonably nice the rooms were despite the constant occupancy of the rooms. Nothing seemed worn or old. The rooms seemed spacious because there was no large pieces of furniture holding the TV

Our family spent one night at Yosemite Lodge in early July...room was comparable to a moderately-priced motel room - basic, but, clean and plenty of room. The best feature of the lodge is its location and views. Be sure to use the free shuttle bus that stops right at the lodge to get around the valley. Have fun!

Topping, to balance mention on another thread of reviews of the Lodge being predominanntly negative. I think the below are more representative.

Directionally challenged here. The reviews were below when I was typing, but of course, now that the message is posted, it should say the reviews ABOVE.

And despite the the above, I can spell "predominantly" correctly.
