I actually came home from Argentina once and there was a 2 inch hissing roach in my luggage. It never even crossed my mind before this that it could happen! I washed everything in hot water and that was the end of it. But, now I a bit paranoid and check everything every time I come home!

I'm a South Florida gal, and like MollyinFL, I'm laughing at this post! I don't know if roaches (we call them "Palmetto bugs" in Miami, and those are particularly huge) like to travel in suitcases, but just in case, follow the instructions of the previous posters. I have had the "Orkin Man" for the past 30 years(or similar person), but they still manage to get in the house on occasion, and like to scurry around in the dark (will hide during the day). Don't worry, they are quite easy to kill.

On the other hand, the mere thought of BEDBUGS getting into my house sends me into a state of paranoia! Or even fleas and/or ticks. But roaches, no.
