Yellowstone Snow Lodge & Canyon Lodge
We have reservations for both of these lodges (in the main buildings) in late August and are traveling with my parents. Two weeks ago, my mother fell and broke a rib. She has had to cancel 3 trips in the last two years and is determined that we're going to go on this trip to Montana & Wyoming no matter what. I'm wondering about how comfortable the beds are in O.F. & Canyon lodges, and if it might be a better idea to reserve in West Yellowstone where we can get air conditioning & queen beds. The obvious drawback would be the extra driving to get into the park. Thanks in advance for any feedback you might have.

I believe your Mom would be comfortable in both places. We stayed at the Canyon Lodge that was built in 1998 and found it to be comfortable.and airy. I believe it had a elevator for the top floor and I don't think the other one did (there are two Canyon lodges close together)as it was built earier. You might want to call and request the one with an elevator or rooms on the first floor. The Snow Lodge is also newer and looked good. Ask if they have a room where you can see Old Faithful from. Your Mom would enjoy seeing it at night. We stayed at the Old Faithful Inn which is close to the Snow Lodge.

bcala, We stayed in cabins at OF and Canyon but I can't imagine the bed quality is that different in the main buildings. And the beds were fine. The pillows, however, were thin as wafers. Not a big deal to me but kind of bugged my DH who likes a lot of pillow loft.
