would 45 yr olds like fort meyers beach floida?

Would 4 45 yr old women on a girls trip like fmb? We rent a condo somewhere every year. We loved Puerto Vallarta, New Smyrna, We like a good beach for swimming and looking at, beach front bars for people watching good restaurants, a laid back place not to costly and we love to go dancing and or out for drinks with people our age. What do you think? Thanks

Look at Vanderbilt Beach in North Naples or Bonita Beach instead IF you are talking about going in season. For various reasons, there are traffic bottlenecks at both ends of Ft Myers Beach that make driving there a nightmare IN season. Off season, I think it would probably be fine. Also -- this is my opinion, not to insult anyone -- many of the bars there look like places where four 45 year old women might get more than they bargained for -- unless of course they are looking for more than looking!

Why do you keep starting new threads? Not to be short with you, but you've started at least 3 threads, all revolving around the issue of would 45 year olds like XYZ beach location? Several posters have advised you to keep all of your posts in one thread because you will get much better feedback.

Naples is more lively than Ft. Myers Beach.

Ackislander I think off season would be sept. Right? Do you mean the bars are rough? We are not rough just like to get out when on vacation a couple evenings because we don't at home. Is Naple expensive? Are the beaches both nice Thanks for the input
Mah1980 I start different ones because they are on different places people looking at Alabama my not know about florida.maybe I don't get it but if I want to know something about seattle I would start a different thread than say Colorado right?

This was explained to you earlier several times. Even when you post in a state, Alabama for instance, you will notice that your post nonetheless gets dumped into the general U.S. board.

Not many posters look just at state postings. Most people just scroll through the U.S. posts. And if they see a bunch of threads started by the same person with the same general topic, they probably won't feel like responding.

That is my opinion, do with it what you will.

It's been a few years since I've been there, but I'd agree that the typical bars in FMB are usually populated with serious drinkers, often a bit rough around the edges. Not unfriendly, just a little rougher than you may be used to. Pretty sure there's no place to go dancing.

I haven't been to Naples, but from what I've heard, it may be more what you're looking for.

MissVicki,

This site is fun and informative. However, as other posters have mentioned, it is annoying when you keep starting new threads with the same subject.

You can continue to post the way that you are doing, and let me know how that works out for you.

I hope it's not to annoying. But I can't image why it would be because you have to click on it to read it so anyone that doesn't want to read it won't open it. but I do enjoy and love all the nice advice I have recieved thus far

I have no idea, but I'll always remember my parents' stories about sitting on the porch while stationed there during War II and listening to the dogs being attacked by the local 'gators.

You're 45 and not dead yet so I'd stick to the Atlantic Coast resort (by the way I'm 41 and wouldn't find the Gulf all that fun). Been there done that.

I grew up on FMB it is great. It depends what your are looking for the beach is relaxing. In season, winter. If you go there you stay there due to the traffic. I always have a blast however it is home. My preference would be Miami Beach. Awesome, good people watching you can go to shows if you want. Naples, FMB is more mellow. Miami Beach can be mellow or wild it is your choice.

Oh my lord Miss Vicki. Do you have THIS much trouble picking out food, clothes and cars?!?!?!

Pick a beach. Bring your own personality(s) and have a good time.

I've NEVER considered a location THIS dependent on whether or not "I would like" x beach.

I can't think of a Florida beach I haven't enjoyed. Is there a particular reason you and your traveling companions are so concerned about the upcoming trip?
