Woodburn B&B in Austin

Has anyone stayed here? I am looking into this house for two nights....other options would be the Hilton or Four seasons DT...thought we could drive in as its only 2 miles or so...any thoughts? interested in being around good food and activity, but nothing late night...13 year old daughter is with my husband and I....just some early evening fun and some fun things to do during the day!
I know about the restaurants and Barton Springs, etc. just need to find a hotel...or a good B&B...don't want to drive too far to get to all of these things...town lake etc....thanks!

This B&B is about 10 minutes from downtown so the location is okay. Personally, I would stay downtown though. Both the Hilton and the Four Seasons are good. If you want to stay in a B&B you might check out Brava House. It's in the Clarksville neighborhood downtown. You'd be within walking distance of Whole Foods, shops, restaurants, etc.

Here's their website: http://www.bravahouse.com/

Not sure why the link shows up twice cause it doesn't look that way when I preview my reply. Oh well!

I've never stayed there but I know the neighborhood well.

Have a great time in Austin!

Thank you! I will check it out. My husband is a marathon runner, so I was also hoping to stay somewhere where he could run and my daughter and I could walk. wasn't sure if DT would work, thats why I started looking at B&B's. How long is the Town Lake Path? I can't seem to find anything on that....
I was also looking at the Mansion at Judges Hill...is that close to DT?
Thanks again for your input!

Here is a website for Town Lake:

http://www.texasoutside.com/townlake.htm

There are 10 miles of trails but there are plenty of places where you can cross a bridge over the the other side and circle back around if you don't want to go that far. It's a great place to walk and your daughter will love the swans, ducks, and turtles she'll see. You can also go canoeing.

I've heard nice things about the Mansion but the location is further north away from Town Lake. If Town Lake is something you'll be using every day, I would definitely try and stay right downtown. The Four Seasons and the Radisson are right on Town Lake and there's another big hotel on the south side of Town Lake just over the Congress St. bridge but I can't remember the name right now.

Even the downtown hotels not directly on Town Lake would work fine because downtown Austin is not very big! Let me know if you have more questions.

Thank you for your response, and so quickly! sounds like we should really try to stay DT...wasn't sure about staying in a large commercial hotel, but that may be our only option. Some of the B&B's are already booked...
thanks again!

You're welcome! Just wanted to pass along a website that I use to see what's going on. It's an events calendar. You just plug in the dates you'll be here.
