Wings & Beer
My wife and I are headed back to Buffalo for a two day weekend trip. We are hitting Buffalo for wings and a couple of visits to local brewpubs/breweries but we will also be headed to Rochester. We've never been to Rochester but plan on visiting breweries/brewpubs there and anything else that might peak our interested.
Any opinions/suggestions for Rochester or anywhere in between?

The best wings in Rochester (IMHO) are at Jeremiah's Tavern (www.jeremiahstavern.com) on Monroe Ave. They didn't make their own beer when I lived there but I understand they do now. Not for wings, but a famous dive food joint is Nick Tahou Hots (www.garbageplate.com), on West Main Street, well-known for its garbage plate.

Things on our list to do or maybe do/see/visit/eat/drink in the Buffalo/Rochester regions:
Dinosaur Bar B Que
Nick Tahou Hots
Rohrbach’s Railroad Street Brewery
High Falls Brewing Company
Letchworth State Park
Mount Morris Dam
Custom Brewcrafters
Niagara Falls Brewing Company
Buffalo Brew Pub
Cave of the Winds
Flying Bison
Pearl St. Grill & Brewery
Devil's Hole State Park
Whirlpool State Park
Depending on time, we might drive to St. Catherines, Ontario to visit some brewpubs. Or, maybe drive down to Erie, PA.

My favorite wings (in Rochester) are Country Sweet - but they aren't traditional Buffalo style wings. (Yum - really spicey hot sweet/sour thing going on in a true ghetto environment).
Our next favorite are at The Distillery near U of R.
Our best local brewery, Rohrbachs, has two facilities -- but only one of them has food and we're never out that way. (Drat)

Frankly, I think downtown Rochester could use a good microbrewery with food.

Add the Whirlpool Jetboats in Niagara... consider adding the Ellicottville Brewing Company in the Ski region... I dont believe Simon Brewery is still open... also St Cats is only 35 minutes from Buffalo and 5 minutes from Niagara Falls ... have fun!

Ellicottville Brewing in Ellicottville is most likely out of our way, don't plan on heading down there. If we decide to head to Erie, we can hit the one in Fredonia.
Oh, our main reason from going is to visit the Anchor bar again....yummy.
Has anyone done The Lockport Cave & Underground Boat Ride on the Erie Canal?

Do the local indian reservations create and sell authentic pottery in and around the reservations? My wife has collected pieces from different tribes out west and she'd like to add to her collection. I see that there is a Cattaraugus Reservation southwest of Buffalo and a Tonawanda Reservation to the Northeast.
