Wine Country...Please Help!

My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary in June and we've chosen the Blackbird Inn in Napa and the Raford Inn in Healdsburg (price was a definite factor...LOL). My question...which of the above towns is more charming and romantic? Thanks, everyone, for your help!

Well others here have way more experience but IMO Healdsburg is more romantic and charming than Napa. It is smaller and has a lovely town square.

Although downtown Napa is starting to improve, Healdsburg is more charming to spend your anniversary. North of Napa is St Helena and Yountville, well known for their high quality of restaurants.

Healdsburg is smaller and nicer. If you drive from Napa to Healdsburg take the Silverado Trail, nicer then Hwy.

Another vote for Healdsburg. A charming, upscale place in the wine country. Consider a meal at the Dry Creek Kitchen, we will be trying Cyrus our next trip, can't wait! ***kim***

Hey Kim, Rick just told me that we're trying Cyrus next time we go. I'll also be making my 4th trip to Willi's seafood. The town of Napa is the most "industrialized" in the area. Healdsburg is a charmer, for sure. Not only is it right in the heart of things, you can spend a whole day just walking the town , shopping and visiting tasting rooms. Rosenblum is our favorite! I don't think we paid a tasting fee in any of them either. The Center Street Cafe is a terrific little place for breakfast or lunch, too, and reasonable.

Wow. We should play the theme from Twi-light Zone because we're going to try it "soon" too!

>> If you drive from Napa to Healdsburg take the Silverado Trail, nicer then Hwy.<<

This is half-correct. The Silverado Trail ends in Calistoga in the Napa Valley. In Calistoga, drive west through town & pick up the lovely Hwy #128 north over the mountains & through the Knights Valley & Alexander valley. This is one of my favorite drives in the wine country. When #128 dead ends into another road, turn left (west), and follow that road into Healdsburg. Stop at the Jimtown store along the way & pick up a sandwich or soup for lunch.

When staying in Healdsburg, dinner at Cyrus is a MUST! Also, Scotty the bartender makes way-cool cocktails so arrive for dinner early. The words out on Cyrus so be sure to reserve ASAP especially for Friday and Saturday.
