Wine Country near San Diego
Girlfriend trip planned for San Diego second week of Nov. We want to do a day trip to Temecula wineries but heard Julian is also a nice area to visit. Could both of these be done in the same day? Maps show about 55 miles from Temecula to Julian but not sure of time required. Wondering if we could do Julian in the morning, have lunch there, and wineries in the afternoon and have time to enjoy both without it being too rushed.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Just spent two weeks in Temecula this past summer. The wineries are very close to each other, so you don't need a lot of time to go from one to the next. As long as you don't try and cram in too many wineries you should be fine. Pick a handful that you really like the look of and take your time at each one, rather than zipping through a ton of them!
ENJOY!

It depends what you'd want to do in the Julian area. If you're just going to drive up there, wander along the main street, browse in some shops, have lunch and leave then you could probably do both. If, however, you would want to hike in the adjacent State Parks, then it would take all day to "do" Julian. Julian has a winery too. Also, the 55 miles from Julian to Temecula is not freeway.
