california coast honeymoon

hello, I put a post on a few days ago and have been getting very helpful suggestions so far! Thank you! I am wondering about romantic lodging in california along the coast - that isn't way too expensive. We are getting so excited about our trip!!

You may want to try lodging in Ft Bragg and Gualala. These places are nice, but have more reasonable prices than the other towns.

Montecito Inn just south of Santa Barbara usually has some great special rates on weekdays. The coast is usually cheaper on weekdays and cities like San Fran/ L.A. are cheaper weekends.

The Moonstone Beach area in Cambria offers a number of nice, small lodging choices. Another popular honeymoon choice along the Central Coast area is the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. Each of the rooms offers a different theme - the cave room is one of the more popular choices.

it depends what you find rommantic. There are cabins in a national forest with a fireplace at the Big Sur Lodge.

Just wanted to mention the northern Cal coast is too cold to swim even in summer, it's more rocky and dramatic; southern Cal coast have warm beaches.
