It's not too bad. Attendance the first weekend is around 3,000 - 5,000 people, most of whom camp on the ranch. Very few of the people who camp go "off reservation" during the day except to buy food supplies. So, you won't see them in town. Many people do stay in Kerrville or the surrounding area and attend the shows at night. After sunset, the temperatures go down pretty quickly. With the evening breeze, it can get pretty comfortable quickly.

Attendance is an interesting mix of young/neo-hippies, mddle aged families and people who grew up in the 60s. My wife started going with her parents in the mid-70s when she was around 10.

There is bench seating for about 1,500 then picnic seating. No reserve tickets. Need to be there around 6:00 p.m. to get bench seating.

The real highlight is after the show at the campfires. Some of the camps have "song circles" where performers will drop by for impromptu performances.

My wife's family hosts a bagel breakfast every weekend morning where people drop by and perform. It is a lot of fun.

Thanks to those of you who gave me suggestions for wildflower sightings. We followed your suggestions and saw many beautiful displays of wildflowers. I'm sure without your advice we would have seen very little. We also visited The Wildflower Center in Austin and that was wonderful.

Dona,
Thank you for the follow up. It's always nice to hear back from someone after a trip & find out how things went.
