WICKED FOR 50 YEAR OLD MALE?

My husband and I are going to Chicago for a long weekend in November. Does "WICKED" appeal to middle aged males?

Yes, great music, terrific special effects, and entertaining dialog. I dragged my DH, and he loved it.

This 50 year old male loved the show. I have the sound track.

You do know that the show is nothing like the book?

Because he is 50 will not determine whether or not he'll like the show. His taste in shows will have a lot more influence on whether or not he'll like it than his age or sex will!
Since most people the show, the law of averages says he will!

You'll see Ana Gasteyer and Kate W. (can't remember her last name, Wilhelm, I think) and they are truly excellent as Elpheba and Glinda.

My guy liked it a lot and thought some of the dialog extremely funny as well; said he wasn't expecting that. And he's 60. He likes most everything but didn't care much for Mamma Mia and overall isn't a big Musicals man- if that tells you anything. I don't know. He loves jazz only and says he is musically impaired. Part of the rock in roll generation but the vibe missed him. LOL!

I've seen two different casts and have been surprised at the amount of teen-aged BOYS in the audiences.

Though the book was very well received by some, it also was strongly disliked by others. I mentioned that the story is different from the book, because the Musical's appeal is more universal than the book.

While I loved the show and have seen it twice, I simply could not get into the book and gave up. However, my daughter and a friend of mine absolutely loved it.

As far as the show goes, the music is wonderful and I too have the soundtrack. My 50 year old husband simply can't stand musicals and avoids them at all costs, but if yours is a musical fan, I think he would enjoy it very much.

And the set is gorgeous.
