Which rooms do I definitely need to upgrade
We will most likely stay at the following hotels on our 20-day trip to Hawaii next year. I don't pay for upgraded rooms JUST for better view unless the lower-grade rooms views are terrible. I would like some advise on which of these hotels should we pay extra for a better room because it is well worth the extra bucks.
Things I'm trying to avoid:
Noisy Pools below
Parking lot, busy road views
Inferior room quality
I am more concerned with having nice internal room accommodations than what I see out my window, IF I can see the beautiful view from the restaurant or patio etc. If a nice mountain-view room is as nice as an ocean-view room on the inside and the view of the mountains/gardens are pretty then I?m happy. :0). If I know something specific ? like maybe not only does more expensive room have a spectacular view, (while the other?s views are looking at the roof of the hotel next door) it also as a private lanai???? Hope you get what I?m looking for????.
Here you go:
Kauai ? Princeville
BI ? Kona Village
Maui ? Sheraton
Maui ? Hana Maui
Maui ? 4 Seasons
And thanks to all of you!!!

Because I didn't post the first one under "Hawaii" and was concerned that those people who look specifically under "Hawaii" due to their "expertise in this location" may not see my post.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to clarify. I will try not to irritate too many people here as most of them are very helpful.

I don't know if the standard views are bad - but if you only want to upgrade at one hotel - make it the Princeville. It is one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen - amazing!
My second favorite view, right behind the Grand Canyon. It's truly breathtaking.

Curious,
I think what Nancy is trying to say is that she did not select 'Hawaii' when she posted initially. Therefore her original post doesn't show up when someone chooses to read Hawaii related posts only but this re-posting does. In that sense, there is a Hawaii board, just like there's a California board, etc. Many of us don't have time to sift thru all of the postings under the US board and only view the postings related to certain states. So it definitely helps if Nancy re-posts to the Hawaii board rather than just the US board where it will drop down to the bottom never to be seen again. BTW I thought her reply was quite clear and not snippy in tone.

I would choose to upgrade at the Princeville. Get a view of Hanalei Bay for some amazing sunsets. Worth the extra cost.
As for the Four Seasons on Maui, don't bother. I spent a lot extra for an "ocean view" room and only got a view of 1/3 beach and 2/3 Grand Wailea parking lot. A mountain view room is fine as all of the rooms are good sized and comfortable.
