We are going to PTown for the day and are wondering which restaurant to have lunch at. We would like a place overlooking the ocean if possible. Any suggestions?

Lobster Pot.

What kind of food do you want?

I second Starrsville's rec. We had a very nice lunch there three years ago.

Lobster Pot is most obvious answer but other good choices include: Bubala's. Bayside Betty's.

Good lunch but not on water: Napi's; Clem & Ursie,s.

When Gene mentioned Bubuala's I had to stop and think...it's on the water? Well, based on location, of course it is (duh) but I always eat outside on the patio. The people-watching view is just too good to pass up. Only in Ptown!

I don't know Bayside Betty's.

I agree with Gene that Lobster Pot is an obvious choice. That's why I suggested it first and THEN asked what kind of food do you want. The Lobster Pot is an institution and they have done seafood well for decades. Even a friend who owned a hoity-toity restaurant in Ptown could find no fault for what they do - because they do it very, very well. I'll eat elsewhere during the week but one night I have them tie on one of those plastic bibs and tear into a whole lobster and have all the goodies that go before and after it. Any diet I may be on at the time be damned!

I only live a couple of hours away from PTown, so eating seafood in PTown isn't as important to me as dining in a restaurant with good Cape atmosphere overlooking the water.

Although......... people watching on the patio side sounds great too! Thanks for the idea!!!

Do you have lobster rolls at your McDonald's? That blew my mind when I was in Maine.

Lobster rolls at McD's, yes, we did have them but to tell the truth, I could never bring myself to buy one. Just didn't seem right!

My Dad said they were pretty good for the price though. I haven't been to McD's in a long time so I'm not sure if they still sell them!

Fanizzi's(sp.),The Red Inn and the Mews are all on the water and have varied menus and good food - not touristy either.

Just got back from PTown and ended up have lunch at the Lobster Pot. We had fresh codfish sandwiches! Umm,umm, good! We also chose to sit upstairs and enjoyed the view tremendously! Thanks for the suggestion!!

We also ate at the Lobster Pot 2 years ago on the recommendation of a local shop owner- we ate upstairs and were lucky enough to get one of the tables near the patio doors. The codfish sandwiches were delicious

Next day trip, either Martha's Vineyard or Newport! Love living in New England in the summer!!!
