Which is the preferred airport when flying to Washington DC?

With price being equal - is there one airport which is more convenient to fly into than another in DC? I would be flying in to sight see, and not planning to rent a car.

DCA (Regan National) is right next to DC and on the Metrorail line.

That is the best.

Definitely DCA, Washington Regan National, just 10 minutes from downtown via Metro for about $2, or a taxi ride of $15.

DC is the one city where I will choose to take a connecting flight over a non-stop flight in order to fly into DCA, rather than flying to Dulles (a $65-70 taxi ride, vs. a quick metro ride). Yes, the ride from Dulles is worse than changing planes!!

National, without a question. Dulles and BWI are equally bad, given your goal.

If flying into DC then use Reagan National Airport. Using BWI or Dulles will cost close to $100 per taxi or a loooonnng drive using public transportation..

Reagan National was named for President Ronald Reagan who spelled his name "REAGAN".

Thanks for the spelling. I can never remember and the spell checker gave me a bunch of examples. I couldn't figure out which it was.

I always think the two vowels come after the g but now I know they are before.

Just call it "National" -- no spelling problems and that has always been an element of its name for about 60 years.
