Which hotel with children in WDW ?

In May or June 2000 we shall visit Orlando. Our children (6 and 4) are looking forward to Mickey Mouse. But the parks will be too large, to visit it in one day, I guess. So we need a good hotel with a good pool for children of this age. Who can make me a suggestion ? Thanks

It depends on how much you want to spend. The Contemporary Hotel is great for kids. It's right on the monorail, so it's easy to get to and from the Magic Kingdom as well as EPCOT. It's one of Disney's more pricey hotels, but it's very kid friendly and very convenient! Another good one for families is the Wilderness Lodge. That's a little more affordable and there is quick boat access to the Magic Kingdom. The even more affordable hotels such as Dixie Landings or the All Star Movies hotels are great as well, but the downfall is much smaller rooms and quite a bus trip to take to get to the Magic Kingdom. (if you don't want to drive your car from theme park to hotel)

Any of the Disney hotels are excellent for kids. They are designed for families with kids and the staff caters to kids. We stayed at the Contemporary with our kids last year and the convenience of the monorail and boat tramsportation to the parks is unbeatable. Every morning you can see Mickey and Minnie, with Goofey, Chip and Dale, at their breakfast buffet. We personally liked the aesthetics of the Wilderness Lodge more than the Contemporary, but that's a personal choice. You can't go wrong with any of the Disney hotels. From the Contemporary you can rent little two-person "mouse" boats that are fun, and their pool has a nice waterslide, too. Be sure to get a multi-day pass to WDW parks so you can come and go as you please.

Our family returned fromDisney two weeks ago. We stayed at the Dixie Landings and thought it was a great place to stay and not as expensive as the Contemporary. The rooms were large enough for the five of us (with trundle bed). There is a Large pool with slides on an island in the middle of the Landings that closes at midnight and each section has it's own pool that is open 24 hours a day. The buses take you to every park in Disney run every 20 minutes and are a 3 minute walk from your room. This enables you to go to the Magic Kingdom before the public, where you can stay for a few hours and then take a bus to Blizzard Beach for the afternoon.

Either the Dixie Landings or Port Orleans resorts would be a good choice. I liked the pool at Port Orleans better. The above posting is correct. you can't go wrong with any of the Disney resorts. Dixie Landings and Port Orleans are moderately priced (about $149-$169 per night). Have a great trip!

Me again. There is a great site, www.wdwig.com, that will tell you everything you ever wanted too know about DisneyWorld and then some. It has facts and pictures of all the hotels included within the site.

All the hotels at WDW are great for families with kids. The least expensive are the All Star Sport, Music, etc. The rooms are Holiday Inn quality. The food courts are great for kids, sorta fast food rather than the sit down restaurant. The bus ride to the main gate is a little bit long, but not really bad. We have stayed at different priced hotels and you really can't go wrong. Have a great trip.
